    About The Navys Advanced Electronics / Computer Field (AECF) offers extensive training in electronics, computer systems, radar, communications, and weapons fire control systems, including the Navys advanced missile systems and Aegis radar. These technicians are essential to the ships Combat Systems department, ensuring readiness for combat operations across the fleet. Responsibilities As an Electronics Technician (ET) or Fire Controlman (FC), you may: Maintain and repair radar, communication, and navigation equipment. Operate, maintain, and repair fire control radars, mainframe computers, large screen displays, LANs, weapon control consoles, and automatic gun systems. Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical systems used in weapons systems. Support combat systems readiness aboard aircraft carriers, Aegis cruisers, and other surface ships. Work Environment ETs and FCs serve on fleet units worldwide and at shore-based repair facilities. Expect assignments aboard ships, at remote stations, and in technical repair shops. The role also plays an important part in safeguarding company technology assets and data. In some cases, similar support may be provided to affiliated or non-company entities. Because the organization operates across multiple, diverse business units, technology needs vary by function and location. As a result, the IT Technician may develop and apply specialized expertise and may be assigned responsibility for supporting specific systems, platforms, or functional areas based on business needs. Provide technical support via phone, remote access, or on-site visits, based on user needs and system requirements. 9. Serve as a point of coordination between business locations and internal IT support resources to help ensure accurate issue identification and resolution. 10. Maintain positive, cooperative working relationships with employees across the organization. 11. Follow company safety policies and participate in required safety programs and training. 12.
