Provides precise continual surveillance and analysis of cardiac rhythms on electrocardiographic central monitoring station, documenting per established procedure; interprets ECG rhythms, recognizes significant ECG events. Escalates significant or life-threatening changes immediately, utilizing appropriate ECG algorithm, to a Registered Nurse, as appropriate; communicates information in a clear, concise and accurate manner to the responsible individual within established timeframe. Obtains rhythm strips per hospital cardiac telemetry procedure; measures, analyzes and documents findings. Operates, cleans and troubleshoots all functions of the telemetry monitoring system; accounts for all monitors at the end of each assigned shift. Admits, transfers, and discharges patient and enters all required information in telemetry monitoring system. Participates in teamwork by responding positively to requests for assistance. Demonstrates adaptability, problem solving and professional behavior at all times. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement programs. Maintains patient confidentiality and appropriate handling of PHI. Abides by the HMH Legal Compliance Code of Conduct. Maintains a safe work environment and reports safety concerns appropriately. Performs other related duties as assigned. LATITUDE, CONTACTS/INTERACTIONS All positions of Huntsville Memorial Hospital are part of an interdisciplinary team, and as such, participate in the care and service delivery process through effective interaction with other team members.
