Primary Responsibilities: Supervise Service personnel in the execution of: Established work instructions, repair documentation, cleaning and hygiene procedures, and equipment maintenance. Provide training and support to ensure all personnel are properly trained to perform their job, ensuring the training is well documented. Oversee and assist with all personnel safety aspects of the service process to ensure safe work practices are adhered to. Work with other departments including Operations, Regulatory, Sales & Marketing, Inventory & Logistics, Quality, R&D, and Customer/Technical Service to: Meet company goals and objectives relating to service, update and create new procedures, and ensure the servicing meets ISO 13485 and FDA compliance. Provide support to Regulatory and Technical Support as it relates to Complaint Handling, CAPA, etc. Generate purchase requests for materials required in the service area. Consolidate repair data to be analyzed for potential improvements. Provide guidance to management in creating a more efficient operation as it relates to servicing. About the role: The Multi-craft Maintenance Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime. This role requires expertise in both mechanical and electrical maintenance, with a strong focus on industrial automation, PLCs, robotics, and high-speed manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with servo drives, vision systems, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and industrial networking technologies to support production operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues on production and plant equipment efficiently. • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. • Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, servo drives, industrial robots, and vision systems. • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems, including motors, relays, drives, 3-phase power, and communication devices. • Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in manufacturing processes. • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals for troubleshooting and repairs. • Perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions to improve equipment reliability. • Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work, track maintenance activities, and report failures. • Assist in continuous improvement projects, modifications, and equipment upgrades. • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a safe work environment. • Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required (Technical degree or certifications in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field preferred). • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in troubleshooting and maintaining industrial machinery in a high-speed manufacturing environment. • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with experience in PLCs, automation, and robotic systems. • Ability to diagnose and repair servo drives, industrial sensors, power transmission systems, and industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, etc.). • Proficiency in using hand tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment. • Ability to perform basic fabrication, welding, and machining when necessary. • Strong understanding of lockout/tagout (LOTO), NFPA 70E electrical safety, and OSHA regulations. • Must be comfortable working overtime and flexible shifts as needed to support operations. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various industrial environments (heights, confined spaces, hot/cold conditions).
