The Equipment Technician II performs a variety of technical, mechanical and general repair or maintenance on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment. This is the second level of a three level series. It is differentiated from the first level in that tasks are of a higher level of technical difficulty involving diagnostic skills and major component rebuilding.The Equipment Technician II performs works on high value equipment where proper preventive maintenance is necessary in order to preserve assets and avoid injuries attributable to equipment failure.
