About the Role:
Level one Mechanic works as a key maintenance team member to support TreeHouse Foods objectives with respect to maintaining equipment in support of production requirements. Responsibilities include ensuring reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production, packaging, processing equipment and facilities, including utility systems (water, steam, cooling, heat, electrical, gas, or air required for operations), in a safe, sanitary & efficient manner.

• Utilize manufacturing information sheets, determine necessary parts, write requisitions, and obtain materials from stock areas.
• Read shop orders and drawings to determine assembly procedures such as component types and configuration, mounting locations and clearances required.
• Assemble and fit parts and components to form sub-assemblies, or completed assemblies.
• Assemble and wire control devices, cutting wires to length.
• Make adjustments to insure correct alignment and clearances.
• Install units, pan assemblies and cover up steel, meters, kirk keys, pull boxes, reactors, relays, fuses, MTB assemblies, panel boards, space heaters, transformers, etc. by mounting / bolting into place. Assemble and install bus work such as lug adapters, cross over bus, splices, etc.
• Make pre-bent cable unit, MTB and control panel harnesses using pre-cable boards, control panels and hand crimp lugs if necessary. Cut, install and connect wire and/or cable in units where circuitry requires additional relays, timers, fuses, etc. Cut, form and connect control wire, power wire and cable, point to point on units, relay panels, control panels, and space heaters

The technician will be troubleshooting and installing low Voltage and structured cabling related work.
A day to day consist of:
Reporting to office around 6:30 AM - 7:00 AM. They will sit in a team meeting that involves the scope of the project and what they are looking to complete at the specific project. After the the meeting the techs will then head to the sites in the company van/truck with other team members. The workload right now is putting most technicians at anywhere from 5-10 hours of overtime.
Breakdown of day to day skills and experience:
* The Technician will prep and splice fiber optic cables, locate problem areas and perform other repairs as needed
* Proficient with fiber connector prep and installation. Proficient with fiber test equipment. Initiates test and turn-up procedures
* Fabricate, assemble, and install cable pathways including cable trays through facilities, trenches and manholes.
* Install, splice, terminate and test vertical backbone and horizontal fiber optic and copper cable systems.
* Including fusion splicing and pigtail splicing, and installing fiber connectors.
* Cable Installation: Must have a clear understanding and be able to install cable in aerial, underground, and inside plant environments.
* Perform ring/hot cuts.
* Install fiber closures, terminations, connectors, patch panels and related materials
* Bond and ground fiber cables according to client specifications.
* Must have a clear understanding of the OTDR, both operation and evaluation of information received. OTDR-must be able to read traces and determine whether specifications have been met both overall and per event(connector or splice), determine if events appear where there should not be any in your cable plant.
