Use acetylene welding/cutting torch and combination welding procedures. Use tube bending equipment. Use electrical or electronic testing devices or equipment. Operate hoist, winch, or hydraulic boom as needed. Operate with advanced skill hand tools both powered and manual. Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as a drill press, lathe and/or welding equipment. Operate maintenance vehicles including aerial lifts, personnel transport vehicles and forklifts. Respond to mechanical and electrical emergencies during non-standard business hours. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and technical drawings. Read and understand work orders, instructions, formulas, or charts. Write routine reports and correspondence as needed. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area. Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures. Overtime is required. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: Employees in this position will provide technical guidance to persons in Maintenance Technician I and II roles. Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required. Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment. Minimum of 6 months' work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment is required. Applicable military experience will be considered. Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment test to be eligible for employment. Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required. As a Fitness Equipment Technician, you'll be the hero behind the scenes who keeps our treadmills humming, our racks solid, and our clubs safe and functional. You'll tackle repairs, preventive maintenance, and safety checks across assigned clubs, partnering closely with club teams and our Facilities Department. What you'll do Own the equipment repair & maintenance workflow in ServiceChannel-from intake to resolution. Complete diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of cardio and strength equipment-quickly and safely. Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep downtime low and member smiles high. Conduct regular inspections to spot issues (and hazards) before they become problems. Keep accurate inventory and equipment records up to date. Communicate clearly with club leaders and Facilities-timely updates, complete notes, no surprises. Follow all club, facility, safety, and emergency procedures. Pitch in for after-hours/emergency on-call needs when scheduled. Position Requirements 5+ years hands-on experience repairing and maintaining fitness equipment (preferred). Advanced ability to read parts diagrams, wiring schematics, and manufacturer manuals. Strong troubleshooting chops and the right tool for every job. Detail-driven, organized, punctual-and a friendly, professional presence with members and staff. Calm under pressure; patient, tactful, and safety-obsessed.
