PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION - Linen Technician The primary purpose of the Linen Distribution Technician position is to ensure daily responsibilities are completed in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Take direction from the Linen Distribution Manager (LDM) and complete duties and expectations in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. This can include, but is not limited to: Working the assigned schedule without delay, tardiness, or absenteeism; Completing assigned job duties including delivering of clean linen in a neat and orderly fashion, collection and transportation of soiled linen, accurate recording inventories and quantities of linen, and organizing and cleaning the linen storage areas in accordance with Crown policies and procedures and specific instruction from the LDM; Receiving customer calls for service, recording the nature of the call, and satisfying the requests of the call in a timely and professional manner in accordance with Crown policies and procedures and specific instruction from the LDM; Observe, record, and report to the LDM any instances of linen abuse and poor utilization. Works as patient contact in coordinating and then safely delivering, transferring, and picking up equipment and supplies. Evaluates and educates the new patient / caregiver in areas of company overview, patient rights and responsibilities, advance directives, infection control and equipment cleaning, home safety, emergency preparedness, and use of equipment and supplies. Curbside cleans equipment and transports appropriately. Maintains organization and infection control responsibilities in the vehicle and warehouse at all times. Ensures that all preventive maintenance visits are made in coordination with schedule. Completes a check list designed to ensure understanding and appropriate use of equipment and supplies. Communicates any patient concerns to a respiratory therapy staff member or manager. Encourages patient to complete Patient Satisfaction Survey and instructs the patient on where they can find that survey in the booklet. Educates the patient / caregiver in regard to financial responsibility and how medical equipment billing is accomplished. Provides patients / caregiver with a copy of the delivery, switch out or pick up ticket with all items listed accurately. Collects serial and lot numbers for appropriate equipment / supplies. Ensures appropriate signatures are collected and witnessed. Reports any shortages of inventory equipment / supplies to the warehouse coordinator so that replacements may be ordered immediately. Maintains adequate supplies on vehicle. Submits all completed paperwork within one working day. Rotates on-call with other service technicians and acts under the guidance of the on-call therapist. Assists in receiving purchased equipment / supplies, testing and documentation of new equipment and placing into active inventory. Ensures that all mail outs are completed daily with associated documentation. Performs other duties as assigned. Aligns oxygen system, cleans and inspects chambers, pressurizes/depressurizes chambers,monitorspatient and equipment status. Ensures allsafety measures for patient in HBO chamber. Conducts inspections and support preventative maintenance programs of chambers to ensure safe andefficientoperation of equipment and associated physical supportsystems. Assist withdepartmentalcompliance with all regulatory requirements.Suggest necessary HBO safety policies and incorporated new safety procedures as necessary. Keeps documentation current and accurate, including accurate documentation of consumption of products and charges. Works with all other Hyperbaric officers to coordinate the care of any referral of patients to the CVI program. Coordinates process for continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient HBO services. Responsible for documenting all HBO health records into the EMR for the wound care department. Also understands the coding and compliance guidelines for HBO treatment. Safety/Technical Director: works closely with infection control, Hazardous material, Hospital Safety Director, Facilities Manager, and Wound Care/HBO Clinical Manager to ensure HBO department is in compliance with the health care facilities policies and procedures, NFPA 99 and all other regulatory agencies.
