An established and leading Precision Timing & Frequency Technology Firm are looking for a Maintenance Technician The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial machinery withina production facility, including performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, replacing worn parts, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently, often requiring proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and technical manuals; often working in a fast-paced environment with safety regulations to adhere to. Responsibilities: • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance checks on building systems, including HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, electrical panels, and fire safety equipment. • Perform scheduled lubrication and filter changes on machinery. • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all manufacturing equipment and vacuum system to ensure optimal production efficiency and uptime. • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions. • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspections. • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals to understand equipment operation and repair procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintenance and Repair: • Follow established preventative maintenance schedules to proactively address potential issues. • Conduct routine inspections of machinery for wear and tear, potential hazards, and lubrication levels. • Maintain detailed maintenance records and reports. Troubleshooting: • Identify and diagnose mechanical issues by • Disassemble and reassemble machinery to access components for repair. • Replace worn or damaged parts, including bearings, belts, gears, and seals. • Perform adjustments and alignments on machinery to ensure proper functionality. • Repair and maintain pneumatic, electrical systems as needed. • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and other building components. • Perform minor repairs including fixing leaky faucets, replacing light bulbs, repairing minor electrical issues, patching drywall, and fixing minor carpentry issues. • Respond to maintenance work orders and complete repairs promptly. Preventative Maintenance: analyzing symptoms, sounds, and operational data. • Use troubleshooting techniques to isolate problems and determine necessary repairs. Safety Compliance: • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working on machinery. • Report any safety concerns or hazards immediately. • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent • Proven experience as a manufacturing mechanic or related role • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and technical manuals • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments • Basic understanding of electrical, vacuum and pneumatic systems • Ability to work independently and as part of a team MUST HAVE MECHANICAL BACKGROUND IN REPAIRING PUMPS AND VARIOUS MACHINE Physical Demands: • Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods. • Manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools. • Must have knowledge of basis of Vacuum system as well Plumbing, HVAC and Electricity Work Environment: Industrial manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, and grease. Overtime is necessary during weather emergencies Will be working outside in all weather conditions year-round Remove malfunctioning ground support equipment from service and ensure GSE is not returned to service until malfunction has been accurately diagnosed and repaired Respond to emergency service calls as well as accidents involving ground support equipment Complete all maintenance/repair documentation consistent with carrier, station, airport authority, municipal, state, federal and SP requirements Comply with all federal, provincial, municipal, airport authority and carrier security requirements Will retain a motor vehicle driver's license for both air side / non airside in good standing at all times Follow all safety guidelines set out by WCB, EPA, WHIMIS, and SP management Keep GSE shop and its equipment always clean and serviceable, report all deficiencies to management Fuel equipment as necessary with full regard for all safety and environmental requirements Will liaison with Ramp management, customers and staff in a professional manner when needed Work as a self-starter and report to shop leads daily Your profile Valid driver's license Trade school training and or a mechanical background preferred. Good oral and verbal communication skills Good computer skills. Willing to clean and maintain a safe workshop.
