Dual role- Entry- Level Technician/Material Handler

This is a dual position which will help install, service, and test electronic security systems, as well as performing the duties of a Inventory Specialist for our Griffith, IN office. Electronic security systems including burglar and fire alarms, CCTV, Access Control systems and all related electronic security equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

JOB TITLE: IT Asset Inventory Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

REPORTS TO: Information Security and Systems Support Manager



JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION: Associate degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems or technical equivalent required, or may substitute with 2 or more years of related work experience as a contributor.

EXPERIENCE: Must maintain up-to-date knowledge of uses and functions of IT equipment and related programming/technical requirements. Advanced training and certification in server/desktop administration, Microsoft, other IT industry recognized skills in support and security is preferred but not required.


MAJOR JOB TASKS:

  • Purchases, monitors, controls, and tracks IT managed hardware and software assets and mobile devices for the organization
  • Identifies and resolves problems with endpoint patching and brings them into compliance with existing Cyber Security policies and procedures
  • Maintains and controls existing access control software and database
  • Creates and maintains employee ID badges and assigns access policies based on end-user roles and supervisory requests
  • Assists System Support Team with equipment rollouts and inventories
  • Develops and maintains existing MDM solution
  • Responsible for Data entry and management of all equipment hardware and software inventories
  • Responsible for end-user hardware and software purchasing including mobile devices
  • Assists with equipment life cycle analysis to determine which assets will be replaced and implements retirement and disposal processes of retired assets
  • Works with equipment support manufacturers to process repairs or returns
  • Ensures asset inventory is reconciled in all system management and inventory systems
  • Provides pertinent budget forecasting and analysis for all end-user software and hardware
  • Identifies opportunities for cost reduction in purchasing and asset management while maintaining service levels and employee satisfaction
  • Must be knowledgeable of desktop hardware (Mac, pc), operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux), network connectivity, and mobile devices (iOS).
  • Must be knowledgeable in MS Office 365 products including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Must be knowledgeable in database management and reporting databases and reporting queries
  • Must be knowledgeable in IT asset management systems
  • Must possess effective communications skills including written, verbal, and listening for interaction with employees, management, vendors, consultants and others
  • May participate periodically in after hours on-call rotation as necessary

To report software/hardware malfunction, resolve hardware and software issues, and/or to keep updated on current technology.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • All specific equipment related to Information Technology as well as routine office equipment. Must have valid driver's license without violation, which would prohibit insurability.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate technical information both written and verbally. Must be able to perform complicated research, reporting, and querying of data. Strong attention to detail. Impeccable written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to exhibit skills in problem solving, process improvement, and reporting.
  • Work is performed in an office environment with higher and/or longer noise level than average. Weekends, evening hours, overtime and/or overnight travel may occasionally be necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds, required. Normal vision and hearing required. Physical ability in sitting, stooping, pushing, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, using fingers, grasping, talking (English), hearing, extended repetitive motions, defined light level work.
