Engineering Technician V / Technician, Principal
This is a waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization position, working within shipyards and drydocks onboard U.S. Naval ships. The incumbent will be working in varying temperatures of high heat in the summer and cold in the winter preforming the following tasks:
1, Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs and tests electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and related devices.
2, Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in order to put equipment in operational condition and solve complex problems.
3, Troubleshoots and corrects malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment.
4, Modifies circuitry to improve performance.
5, Makes recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems.
6, Provides operation and maintenance instruction to customer personnel.
7, Prepares operating and malfunction reports and related documentation.
8, Works with engineering staff to determine and solve equipment design problems.
9, Performs quality assurance testing of assemblies and equipment fabricated by other technicians.
10, Provides work leadership to less-experienced technicians, and may have supervisory responsibility.

Job Summary

Operations
· Inspect, test, troubleshoot, service, repair and maintain low, medium, high voltage electrical system equipment.
· Setup and perform electrical tests on the following equipment:
o Transformers - power factor, TTR, winding resistance, insulation resistance, excitation and oil analysis
o MV and HV conductors - VLF Tan Delta, Partial Discharge, VLF Withstand, DC Hipot Withstand.
o Circuit Breakers - primary injection, secondary injection, contact resistance, insulation resistance.
o Automatic Transfer Switch - troubleshooting.
o Switchgear - Low, Medium and High voltage testing and maintenance.
· Properly check in and check out test equipment utilizing the company provided system reporting any damaged or unusable equipment.
· Treat all company provided assets as if they were your own.
Communication
· Prepare and submit daily reports outlining job progress/completion.
· Review and submit all company administrative paperwork in a timely manner.
Required Skills/Abilities
· Willingness to work flexible schedule including overtime, evening, weekends, holidays and night hours as required.

Robert Half is searching for a Data Center Technician for a Real Estate client based out of Tukwila, Washington. The primary responsibility of this Data Center Technician is managing server installations and decommissioning hardware. This is a long-term contract (6+ months) with potential to convert into an FTE.
Locations of travel will primarily be Seattle, WA - Quincy, WA and once in New Jersey.
All mileage and accommodations will be covered/reimbursed for traveling.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the coordination of trade, material ordering and delivery schedules to ensure quality of installation
Manage installation requests from initiation to closure
Develop Method of Procedures (MOP) for single mode fiber installs
Reviews all outstanding ticket requests(ServiceNow) on a daily basis
Perform equipment troubleshooting as needed
Server/switch/router deployments
Fiber optic installation and testing experience
Extend circuits from the demarcation point to client's equipment and participated in conference calls to troubleshoot and confirm connectivity.
Perform network cable installs using patch panels and label standards (copper, MM/SM fiber).
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues using cable analyzers (Fluke).
Triage and decommission servers/network equipment.
Manage storage of high volume of decommissioned devices, labeled and recorded information in Excel.
Implement new patch panel infrastructure needs and placement.
Responsible for virtual database population of devices and connections.
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in a dedicated Data Center Technician role.
Proficiency with hands-on support and troubleshooting Cisco, Dell, and HP equipment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (formulas and Pivot Tables are a plus!)
Prior experience working within a ticketing system (managing a queue, documentation, etc.)
Nice to have: experience leading projects and vendor communication.
