The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing and servicing on-site nitrogen generation plants and bulk medical or industrial gas systems in a safe and operationally effective manner, in accordance with all federal, state/provincial and local codes, and Airgas policies.
Responsibilities
Install, place in operation, maintain, inspect, test, trouble-shoot and repair equipment at customer sites to ensure the safe, effective and efficient delivery of our products to customer's point of use while prioritizing integrated service activities to maximize time spent working on equipment at customer locations
Serve as a key point of contact/coordination between company and customer to meet all requirements safely, efficiently and economically while coordinating activities with outside service providers, customer service engineering, sales and distribution on installations/removals.
Perform in the above capacities specifically for Air Liquide America's applicable equipment including oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, helium and carbon dioxide liquid and gas storage systems; customer distribution/regulation systems; applications equipment; telemonitoring equipment; instrumentation; and FLOXAL systems including air compressors: various small on-site nitrogen generation systems and mechanical refrigeration systems.
Ability to ensure optimum quantity/quality/cost of service work performed, complete paperwork in a timely, accurate and completed fashion.
Ability to provide for appropriate use of company assets, secure necessary documentation of work performed (installations, removals), compile billing information (if applicable) and total related costs of all work performed.
All work must be performed in conformance with established safety procedures while ensuring customer satisfaction with the appearance/operation of every installation.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; College or Technical degree highly preferred with skills to install, maintain, and remove customer site installations unassisted.
Minimum of four (4) years of diagnostic and repair experience required in some or all of the following: Cryogenics, high pressure piping, brazing, electrical circuits (including 3 phase power), refrigeration (EPA certified in refrigerant recovery), PLCs (programmable logic controllers), and process instrumentation.
Ability to be on call 24/7 on a rotating schedule unless scheduled off for vacation, to work in inclement weather and travel with approximately 15% overnight.
Currently holds a valid driver's license allowing operation of a vehicle up to 10,000 lb. GVW (with clean driving record).
Excellent written/verbal communicator; must deal effectively with internal and external customers.
Ability to comply with all applicable governmental and Air Liquide America and Airgas policies, regulations, and procedures; knows/applies all applicable standards for current good manufacturing practice set forth by the CGA, NFPA, CMA and other professional/regulatory bodies.

Job Overview:
The Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand's Compression Systems and Services Division serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.
Responsibilities:
In addition to performing preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed air equipment, our service techs will interact with customers to address existing and unanticipated equipment concerns. Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs. All service technicians will assist and train apprentices and Field Service Technicians.
•Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
•Provides technical assistance on equipment pre-commissioning and start-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems. Including “hands-on” work to assure equipment operates to customer's requirement with limited guidance from the Master Technician.
•Increases Ingersoll Rand customers awareness of how Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions, such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection can benefit their operations.
Requirements:
•2 years+ experience of troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
•Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
•Every service technician is required to be on-call, but you will not be on-call for the first 90 days to get used to the schedule. This is shared with every service tech, and it requires being available 24/7 for the 1-week duration where you will go to customer sites. On-call weeks can be as often as every 4 weeks or greater than 4 weeks, but that will be determined by the hiring manager.
•This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line with the safety policy.
•High School Diploma or equivalent required.

•Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
•Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).

TriNova's Apprenticeship Program provides a high quality, comprehensive 2- year apprenticeship program for students interested in Instrumentation Control and Process Automation Field Service work. The Apprentice's responsibilities include learning and developing practical skills, participating in classes and workshops on and off-site, observing all health and safety codes, completing tests and assignments, and completing on the job training (OTJ). You should be well-organized, flexible, and willing to assist wherever possible.

Apprentice Responsibilities:
Attending all scheduled classes, workshops, OTJ training, and participating in as many learning opportunities as possible.
Assisting with the relevant department, but also learning about other aspects of the Company.
Observing health and safety procedures.
Completing all tests, presentations, and other required evaluations.
Working in the classroom setting and traveling to other sites as required.
Positively receiving feedback.
Attending meetings and offering suggestions for improvement.
Keeping a log of everything learned.
Building professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
Apprentice Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Valid driver's license.
Good time-management, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
Ability to perform physical tasks while standing, sitting, or kneeling.

Must pass Qualifying Testing: Qualifying testing will consist of an online assessment. Qualification will be based on basic mathematics; basic problem-solving skills; basic terminology; technical writing skills; and reasoning skills. Additionally, a passing score on the qualifying test (over 70%) will be part of the entry considerations.
Travel
Up to 50% travel, primarily local during normal business hours.
Occasional overnight and weekend travel.
The Apprentice will travel with an experienced Technician to and from various job sites for OTJ training but must have their own reliable transportation to the office/classroom each day.
