UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Fleet Technician to join our UniFirst community. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for carrying out all corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on fleet vehicles to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining fleet vehicles in a safe working condition meeting DOT or other regulatory requirements. At UniFirst we have a standard Monday - Friday work week with periodic and weekend overtime. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training.

What you'll be doing:
Ensure all assigned vehicles are properly registered and compliant with current plates, inspections, and documentation.
Complete all scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain fleet performance.
Perform corrective and predictive maintenance to ensure vehicles are in safe, roadworthy condition and meet DOT and other regulatory standards.

Qualifications
What we're looking for:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Associate's degree from an accredited technical school or equivalent experience preferred.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements.
CDL license is a strong plus, preferred for performing road tests and servicing Class A vehicles
Strong diagnostic skills with GM drivability; diesel experience is a plus.
Willingness to work overtime and perform occasional road calls.
3 - 5 years of hands-on experience with medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including: Preventative Maintenance, tire & wheel service, air & hydraulic brake systems, drivetrain and suspension, electrical and A/C systems computerized diagnostics.
Proficiency with diagnostic software and basic computer skills
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. safely

Position Summary:
Under minimal supervision, performs diagnostic and service work on residential and/or light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled

Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.

JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Oversight and scheduling of service operations including routine services, breakdowns, and after-hours calls
2. Perform and maintain daily lot check to better manage workflow into shop, prioritize order of operation, and keep yard/lot organized and neat
3. Work in process management- Closing and approving technician work orders, including making sure the correct parts are charged out, labor is correct, and comments are entered

What You'll Be Doing:
Perform preventative maintenance on standby generator systems.
Troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines.
Repair and adjust transfer switches and perform major repairs on units.
Install and test new generator units.
Respond quickly to jobsites in case of emergency.
Complete and submit work orders and reports in a timely manner.
Prepare accurate quotes for repairs.
Follow safety requirements, including proper use of PPE.
Candidates must be able to*:
Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and tools
Reach with hands and arms
Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed.
Lift and/or move up to 50lbs., and occasionally up to 100lbs.
Work in environments with exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, extreme outdoor weather conditions (both heat and cold), and potential of electrical shock.
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical School Certificate or Military training, a plus.
1-5 years or more of generator experience required.
Experience with Rehlko (Kohler) Power Systems a plus
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Job Description
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintenance of the city's street, water/wastewater systems, and their respective accessories/facilities.
Drainage construction, maintenance and repair, assist in laying concrete bricks, mixing and pouring cement mortar, cleaning and repairing catch basins, storm drains, culverts, and ditches.
Roadway construction, maintenance and repair, using concrete, asphalt and other construction materials and processes.
Operate heavy equipment, vehicles, and hand tools.
Inspect water/wastewater lines and components.
Repair and replace damaged components.
Tap water mains and install new service connections.
Install, repair, and maintain water meters and fire hydrants.
Hydro-clean, saw and remove blockages from sanitary sewer lines.
Video inspect sanitary sewer main lines.
Prepare and maintain work zones
May be required to direct traffic.
Mow, trim weeds/trees and pick up debris around streets and roadways.
Responsible for care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Maintaining accurate records of work performed.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
Three (3) years of experience in street and/or water/wastewater system maintenance, construction and repair preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Desire to learn and grow in all areas pertaining street, waterline and wastewater line construction.
Mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience.
Able to perform tasks for extended periods of time and in all weather conditions.
Knowledge of the hazards, safety rules and regulations related to this industry.
Able to perform standby and callback duties as required and lives within 30 minutes of the facility.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
Able to obtain a valid Class B Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License with a Tanker endorsement.
Must have a driving record acceptable to the city's insurance carrier.
Able to pass physical examination, with no restrictions, at a designated facility.

SUMMARY: Responsible for providing maintenance, technical support, and assistance to end-users, whether on the phone or in person. Primary intention is to ensure end-user satisfaction and ability to properly operate any machinery or technology they may be having trouble with.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
Serving as the first point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance.
Must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution.
Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries (ticketing) and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
Performing remote and onsite troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
Responsible for acting as a liaison, escalating, and assigning helpdesk tickets as necessary.
Maintain end-user accounts (enabling, disabling, password resets) retaining data integrity and system quality.
Maintains absolute standards of security, system integrity, and confidentiality within the department.
Assists with troubleshooting and maintenance of all end-users (endpoint) equipment on property.
Work on projects as assigned.
Flexible scheduling required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work requires moderate physical exertion such as long periods of standing, repetitively lifting lightweight objects with frequent bending or stooping, recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. Occasionally lifts heavy objects over 50 pounds.
