Essential Functions: · Under the guidance of shop leadership or senior mechanics, assist with the inspection of brake systems, engine components, emission systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition. · Basic knowledge of preventative maintenance including tire, oil and brake changes. · Active participation in training classes and development opportunities to increase skills and working knowledge. · Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions and ensure they are working properly. · Under supervision, perform DOT, PM, brake and safety inspections on all vehicles. Perform PM and safety inspections. · Complete work orders, order parts and perform other administrative duties as required daily. · Complete work as scheduled by shop supervision or higher-grade technicians. · Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with all safety regulations. · Maintain a clean work area. · Basic knowledge of Hydraulic systems. Education, Training, Experience and Licensing/Certification Requirements: · Entry-level knowledge/experience of at least 1+ years. · Willingness to learn more complex diagnostic and repair process. · Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related state and federal regulations. · Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization and communicate with customers and external vendors. · Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. · Experience using diagnostic software is preferred. Must be computer literate and willing and able to be trained in software systems. · Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred, or the willingness and ability to obtain one within six (6) months of employment. · ASE certifications preferred. This is a doing hardware repairs and installations on laptop and desktop units. To be successful in this position, you must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware. Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Performing remote and onsite troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions. Responsible for acting as a liaison, escalating, and assigning helpdesk tickets as necessary. Maintain end-user accounts (enabling, disabling, password resets) retaining data integrity and system quality. Maintains absolute standards of security, system integrity, and confidentiality within the department. Assists with troubleshooting and maintenance of all end-users (endpoint) equipment on property. Work on projects as assigned. Flexible scheduling required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work requires moderate physical exertion such as long periods of standing, repetitively lifting lightweight objects with frequent bending or stooping, recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. Occasionally lifts heavy objects over 50 pounds. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS - EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION: One year to three years of similar or related experience. Equivalent to a high school education. What You'll Be Doing: Perform preventative maintenance on standby generator systems. Troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines. Repair and adjust transfer switches and perform major repairs on units. Install and test new generator units. Respond quickly to jobsites in case of emergency. Complete and submit work orders and reports in a timely manner. Prepare accurate quotes for repairs. Follow safety requirements, including proper use of PPE. Candidates must be able to*: Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and tools Reach with hands and arms Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed. Lift and/or move up to 50lbs., and occasionally up to 100lbs. Work in environments with exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, extreme outdoor weather conditions (both heat and cold), and potential of electrical shock. What We're Looking For: High school diploma or GED required. Technical School Certificate or Military training, a plus. 1-5 years or more of generator experience required. Experience with Rehlko (Kohler) Power Systems a plus Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
