This hybrid role combines hands-on service, calibration, and applications support with customer-facing technical guidance. This position plays a key role in both our service operations and our expanding equipment sales efforts. Candidates should have strong knowledge of CMM calibration and programming, particularly with Zeiss CMMs and Calypso software, and should be eager to continue learning additional OEM systems as we sign on new partners.
Key Responsibilities
Field Service and Calibration
Perform on-site CMM calibrations, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs
Complete ISO 17025 and ISO 9001-compliant documentation and reports
Install CMMs including leveling, setup, software configuration, and verification
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues
Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and customer communication
Applications Support
Provide customer support for Zeiss Calypso programming and measurement strategies
Train customers on CMM operation, probing techniques, and best practices
Assist customers in optimizing inspection routines and improving throughput
Support new machine installations with programming, part setup, and early-run support
Technical Sales Support
Identify opportunities for upgrades, retrofits, probe systems, software modules, and accessories
Assist in specifying CMM solutions based on customer requirements
Help evaluate trade-ins and assess used equipment condition
Provide preliminary technical recommendations to customers to support the sales process
Gather project requirements and communicate them to the sales team
Internal Support
Maintain detailed service notes and project records
Assist in evaluating new OEM partnerships and expanding service capability
Help develop company procedures, documentation, and best practices as we grow
Represent Alliance Metrology with professionalism and a customer-first attitude
Required Qualifications
Hands-on experience servicing or calibrating CMMs
Proficiency with Zeiss Calypso and experience on Zeiss CMM platforms
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and GD&T
Excellent communication skills and customer-facing professionalism
Valid driver's license and ability to travel for field service work
High energy, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Ability to travel for multiple days at a time (80% travel expected)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with additional CMM brands (Mitutoyo, Hexagon, LK, Wenzel, etc.)
Knowledge of multi-sensor systems, scanning probes, or advanced probing techniques
Experience performing ISO-accredited calibrations
Light sales or technical consulting experience
Ability to train end users in CMM operation or programming

You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.

You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance tasks such as greasing machinery, filling hydraulic fluids, and replacing belts or other worn parts
Maintain, repair, or replace grinders, augers, pumps, motors, and gear boxes
Promptly respond to emergency radio calls; work efficiently to repair machinery with minimal downtime
Completely repair equipment or ensure proper hand-off before leaving facility
Assist Environmental Systems Maintenance Technicians in changing out chemicals in air scrubbers and wastewater systems and maintaining wastewater buildings, unpressurized pipes, and pond drains
Maintain all water, grease, or oil distribution systems
Operate skid steers, forklifts, payloaders, telehandlers, bucket trucks, boom trucks, and aerial lifts
Correctly operate and maintain welding and fabrication equipment such as acetylene torches, air plasma cutters, and TIG welders
Perform building repairs and complete general handyman duties such as fixing holes in concrete, moving office furniture, etc., as requested; special projects may be assigned based on individual talents and skillsets
Complete small electrical or plumbing projects; escalate to an in-house specialist as needed
Document materials used and time spent on maintenance projects; turn in records and communicate supply needs with the Parts Coordinator, as needed
Assist the Parts Coordinator with inventory cycle counts, as requested
Transport and deliver parts and equipment to outside businesses or other FUI divisions, as needed
Follow all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiatives
Comply with all regulatory compliance requirements including environmental and food/feed safety

Qualifications
Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a mechanical and/or electrical discipline; experience in food/feed production, a plus
