To be successful in this position, you must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware. Job Details: This is a 1099/per call position Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed. Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered. Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you. You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day. You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day. You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day. The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you. You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial) You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided. Licenses and/or Certifications: * Within 90 days of hire obtain any four ASE certifications and maintain certifications. A valid Utah Commercial Driver License must be obtained within six months of hire and be maintained throughout employment. * State safety inspection certification for buses and heavy trucks must be obtained within 90 days of employment. * Refrigerant recovery and recycling certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Skills in: * Repairing City equipment using the needed tools. * Determining causes of operating errors and deciding proper action to correct errors. * Determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed and performing routine maintenance on equipment. * Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. * Basic use of computers including proficiency in typing detailed notes. * Electrical up-fitting of public safety vehicles. * Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. * Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to: * Operate a laptop/diagnostic computer. * Read and analyze data and apply strategies based on the diagnostics to repair air bag deployment system, vehicle anti-lock brake system, electronic fuel injection, air conditioning, hydraulic systems, and diesel systems, etc. on light and heavy vehicles. * Evaluate vehicle safety needs, and exercise independent judgment to ensure reliable vehicle performance. * Perform state safety inspections. * Understand and comply with all OSHA regulations. * Read and write in English at a business level. This position reports to the Manager of Facilities and Grounds. Essential Job Functions Keep records of inspections and maintenance records of all safety systems within RVU Utah. Assists in creating a schedule or timetable of regular evaluations of the facility, and regular maintenance. Makes recommendations for improvements and modifications associated with the custodial staff. Assists in scheduling the work of outside contractors and vendors, specifically, landscaping, plumbing, lighting, door closures, and security related issues, including inspection and completion. Monitor and maintain Lighting schedule while providing support and backup to the Sr. Facilities Technician and Facilities Technician, with the maintenance of the HVAC management system. Submit requests to the Manager of Facilities and Grounds for maintenance projects. Assists the Manager of Facilities and Grounds and all technicians in developing and maintaining a plan for 24-7 coverage relating to building usage, custodial, grounds, maintenance, safety and emergencies. Oversees the usage of facilities by RVU Utah personnel/groups and organizations within the university: set-ups, tear downs, and clean-up. Monitors and maintains the irrigation system and grounds.
