Reads production drawings and assembles various subcomponents into finished products using epoxies, glues, resins, screws, nuts, and bolts. Trims, sands, grinds, drills, and/or routers fiberglass parts into accurate finished products. Recognizes part defects and makes appropriate repairs. Uses PPE (personal protective equipment) in the correct manner and performs proper chemical storage and labeling. Sandblasts and applies gelcoat consistently and with great attention to detail. Places vents, injectors, manifolds, bagging material, and pleats in proper locations. Sets up and measures materials for infusion and operates vacuum equipment. Applies cleaner, sealer, release agents, and RTV (room-temperature-vulcanizing silicone) to infusion molds in proper manner. Understands and complies with confined space requirements. Familiar with all aspects of proper fiberglass lay-up procedures. Assembles fiberglass and PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) components in exact locations using epoxies, glues, and resins. Demonstrates knowledge of correct fiberglass types for each application. Understands how resin moves through various substrates based on different conditions such as heat, catalyst percentage, etc. Uses sheeter and scissors to cut fiberglass to proper dimensions. EDUCATION: No minimum required KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Less than one year of experience in Orenco Manufacturing shops. Completion of the two-hour Emergency Response & HW (HazWopper) Training, and annual follow up training is required. Training description: Emergency communication, alarms, and evacuation routes, contingency plan implementation/emergency response procedures, emergency equipment use.
