Work with Lead Landfill Gas Technician to ensure compliance. Maintain relationships with landfill employees as well as consultants and vendors. Using gas analyzer to monitor gas wells and probes. Performing maintenance on pneumatic pumps, including the removal of pumps in wells, inspections, and repairs. Monitoring the amount of liquid in gas wells. HDPE pipe fusion. Position Requirements: Ability to follow established procedures with minimal amount of direct supervision. Ability to be coachable and learn how to navigate the landfill in a safe manner. Work outdoors for most of the day. Maintain a good attitude and a hard work ethic. Be willing to perform a variety of tasks on any given day. Provide on-call response to gas collection system. Experience operating hand and power tools. Ability to handle objects up to 50 lbs. Ability to collect data, interpret data and draw valid conclusions. Determines nature and priority of calls by asking questions of callers, and transfers information to appropriate units or person. Operates computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system to dispatch public safety units to calls; monitors activities and location of public safety units to ensure situations are under control; provides immediate backup when needed and notifies appropriate supervisors. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. EQUIPMENT USED 911 telecommunication consoles, basic office equipment, e.g., computer terminals, printers, copy machines, telephone systems, facsimile machines; ability to operate Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD).
