The Operating Technician is a position in a polystyrene manufacturing plant in Gales Ferry, Connecticut. The job requires the ability to safely and responsibly perform plant processes using standard operating procedures and work instructions. The job will require the ability to operate powered industrial vehicles (i.e. forklift, manlift), work alongside other members of the Operations team, and perform physically demanding tasks. Additionally, the Operations/Logistics Technician will be required to interface with the DCS computer interface and use it to control the process. Primary focus is in the areas of electronics, telemetry systems, etc. Reads work instructions, engineering drawings, sketches, and test procedures to determine assembly and test methods for electrical, fiber optic and mechanical components. Essential Functions: Manufactures electrical and optical assemblies, components, and harnesses using several fixtures and required tooling as specified through controlled instructions.
