We are looking for Utility Technicians to Perform a variety of entry-level, general labor, unskilled, and semi-skilled duties related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of water, sewer, and wastewater equipment and building facilities. Inspect, clean, and perform minor repairs to equipment. Record work performed. Follow safety and security procedures including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing duties.
Job Responsibilities
Clean and prepare worksites, and process areas, and clear debris
Clean and maintain machinery, tools, conveyors, and equipment
Lift heavy objects regularly, such as iron access covers and cement rings
Assist on projects with other team members
Assist with various tasks such as shovel work, pipework, framing, finish work, formwork, concrete work, cleanup, and any miscellaneous labor needs
Use a variety of hand and pneumatic tools for repairs
Assist in operating sewer cleaning and video inspection equipment
Assist in the maintenance and repair of manholes, pipes, and facility equipment
Assist with maintenance of facilities, buildings, and grounds including snow removal, deicing, erecting scaffolds, and ladders, removing brush, dirt, and debris, and assisting with landscaping
Assist with facility and building repair, demolition, and construction as directed
Assist with completion of emergency, predictive, routine, and preventative maintenance work orders
Drive trucks or other vehicles to transport materials to work sites
Work in confined space areas including underground as required
Lift access covers to locate and remove debris in pipelines
Remove obstructions from open drains and catch basins
Regularly inspect and maintain the cleanliness of tools, equipment, work areas, and process areas
Assist in maintaining a safe, clean plant environment
Attend and successfully complete assigned safety and related training
Report security and safety issues to the supervisor
Follow security and safety policies and procedures in carrying out work duties
Perform work-related duties as assigned or directed
Required Education and Experience
At least 16 years of age
Preferred Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Basic knowledge and experience in the use of hand and power tools
Other Requirements
Valid driver's License
Subject to random drug and alcohol testing
Ability to work the Day or Night Shift based on operational needs.
Essential Physical Requirements
