1998

Since fiscal year 1998 when the question was first asked, 178 United States survey respondents have reported a total of 2,230 new products introduced to the market place.

2000

In 2000, Greg Winter and Ian Tomlinson at the LMB founded Domantis to develop antibody therapeutics using single domains.

2001

The company was granted an exclusive licence to develop the LMB’s work and seed funding was provided by the MRC associated venture fund (MVM). In 2001, a major investment was secured from the biotechnology company Peptech (Australia) and Dr Tomlinson left the LMB to head Domantis research.

2002

In 2002 United States companies received over $66 billion in payments on technology licenses from other organizations, of which $58 billion was from domestic sources.

2003

The number of patents granted by the United States government is up by 21 percent in 2003.

The 2003 survey shows that increasing numbers of research institutions are forging licensing agreements with commercial entities to bring newly developed technology and products to the market.

2006

In late 2006, Domantis was purchased by GSK for £230 million.

2007

In 2007 Richard Henderson and Chris Tate co-founded Heptares Therapeutics to exploit pioneering new technology to stabilise G-protein-coupled receptors.

2010

In 2010 Ana Fraile produced a film about Cesar Milstein and the development of monoclonal antibodies.

2012

In 2012 TTS was awarded the IACET Exemplar Award for External Training in maintenance and operations.
