  • Outside Machinist Supervisor

    * MUST BE ABLE TO GET ACCESS TO ALL YARDS, MUST HAVE TRANSPORTATION MUST BE WILLING TO WORK OVERTIME AND WEEKENDS WHEN NEEDED* Duties and Responsibilities: * Know how to write both technical and conditional reports. * Interpret company policies, enforce safety regulations, and analyze and resolve problems to/with workers. * Assign duties to workers and establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. * Able to inspect any (trade) work and assure that it will meet all QA Standards. * Perform all other duties as assigned. * Interpret details of a work package such as: ü Technical information ü Specification Items ü Drawings ü Manuals ü Sketches ü Blueprints * Must adhere to and have knowledge of applicable documents, references, and safety guidelines including, but not limited to the following: ü Government Standards ü NAVSEA Standard Items ü MSC General Technical Requirements (GTR) ü General Specifications/Overhaul of Ships ü OSHA 2268 * Able to withstand environmental factors such as: ü Outside weather conditions ü High, precarious places ü Exposed to fumes and airborne particles ü Very loud noise level * Required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms on a regular basis. * Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and seek assistance with weights over 50 lbs. * Occasionally perform other physical activities as required, such as: o Stooping o Bending o Squatting o Climbing (including but not limited to, vertical and incline ladders, masts, and kingposts) o Crawling (including but not limited to, through scuttles, manhole covers, tanks, and voids) Experience Requirements: * 5 Years as a supervisor on a ship * 10 years as a (Trade) Other Requirements: * Must be able to pass Drug Screening, Work Ability Screening. * Must be able to obtain a Government facility security pass.

Duties and Responsibilities: * Possess and use hand tools as required to perform electrical tasks: * Screwdriver (flat tip, & Phillips) * Pliers (diagonal, Needle Nose, Linesmen, Channel-Lock) * Wire Stripper & Knife * Lug Crimpers (stakons) * Tape Measurer/Ruler * 3/8 Socket Set * Voltage Tester * Banding Tool * Perform removal and installation of various electrical system components IAW drawings: * Overhead lights * Receptacles * Heaters * Distribution Panels * 1 MC Speakers * Remove, install, inspect, repair, replace, troubleshoot, and test electrical equipment (with little or no supervision required). * MTR Controllers * Interior Communication Systems * Distribution Systems * Take and read measurements * Insulation resistance using a 500 volt megger * Amps using a clamp-on amp meter * Volts using a volt meter * RPMs using a strobe tach or hand held tach * Prep, tie-in, and connect cables to switchboards and load centers. * Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and seek assistance with weights over 50 pounds. * Perform all other duties as assigned. * Able to withstand environmental factors such as: * Outside weather conditions * High, precarious places * Exposed to fumes and airborne particles * Very loud noise level * Required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms on a regular basis. * Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and seek assistance with weights over 50 lbs. * Occasionally perform other physical activities as required, such as: * Stooping * Bending * Squatting * Climbing (including but not limited to, vertical and incline ladders, masts, and kingposts) * Crawling (including but not limited to, through scuttles, manhole covers, tanks, and voids) Other Requirements: * Must be able to pass Drug Screening, Work Ability Screening. * Must be able to obtain a Government facility security pass.
