The Production Planner II will create the Production schedule for one or various Value Stream area(s) to best satisfy current and forecasted demand, while meeting business objectives of safety, quality, on time delivery, competitive customer lead times, profitability, and inventory. The Production Planner will also support daily management activities to ensure commitments are achieved, communicate order status to customer service, and ensure project management teams are supported. Principle Responsibilities * Ability to understand and utilize MRP and how master data drives material requirement planning. * The candidate must be able to plan all operations starting with the receipt of purchase orders through shipping of product. * Assist the purchasing department with outsourcing processes. * Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet and exceed inventory targets and turns; as well as seek opportunities to reduce inventory through various techniques such as lot size optimization, off-the-shelf vs. MTO analysis, Kanban, etc. * Full understanding of re-order points and safety stock formulas; as well as the impact on different ways of calculating. * Ability to create a production plan, understand level loading, capacity planning, sequential and concurrent scheduling to maximize production efficiency by minimizing change overs, down time, and over time. * Lead production planning meetings and communicate when a gap exists between demand vs. capacity. * Work with manufacturing to come up with creative scheduling techniques and adjusting of resources to improve overall efficiency. * Understand Production Attainment and working with manufacturing to fully optimize scheduling to ensure capacity is maximized and production orders are closed out on-time. * Ability to drive root cause for missed shipments and help to implement corrective actions to ensure Customer fill rate targets are achieved and sustained. * Proactively identify potential shortages against scheduled production orders and work with appropriate team to resolve these shortages to ensure on-time completion. * Evaluate slow moving items and work with appropriate groups to propose clean-up, re-work, obsolescence, changes to lot sizing, stock status etc. * Move materials as necessary in performance of duties. * Communicate effectively both internally and externally at all levels. * Support various supply chain functions as demand requires (shipping, receiving, stockroom). * Monitor 1+5-day OTD, track current work status. Metal Finisher I - 2nd Shift (differential offered) This Metal Finisher I position will perform finishing operations according to specifications documented on the job order. Other production tasks such as sandblasting and/or operating a tumbler will be performed in a timely and efficient manner. Principle Responsibilities Perform basic finishing operations, including deburring, hand grinding, and polishing, break edges. Perform sand blasting using a blast cabinet to put a finish on parts and become proficient knowing what blasting medium should be used for various operations. Conduct visual inspections to achieve surface finishes per specifications and blueprints. Perform required set-ups and operation of the appropriate finishing equipment ensuring correct equipment is utilized to apply proper finish. Acquire Production Approval (PA) when specified on job router or work order. Counts parts before beginning to work on job and when finished before moving on to next operation. Engineer, Manufacturing This key role will be reporting to the Engineering Manager and will have the responsibility and authority to develop, introduce and improve highly capable manufacturing processes to produce components for medical instruments and aerospace applications. Scope includes but will not be limited to machining, moulding assembly, finishing and packaging operations. Principle Responsibilities Develops and implements optimized, highly capable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes and inspection methods, in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Set Up Technician The role of the Injection Mold Setup Technician is under supervision of the manufacturing group leader, tends to and operates injection molding machines, inspects parts, and performs trimming, drilling, or other processing, cleaning, or maintenance operations. Assists with troubleshooting maintenance of the extrusion and injection machines. **Principle Responsibilities** + Maintains a clean and organized work area, including daily cleaning and organization of work areas, work tools, and surrounding areas. Assists in the cleaning of equipment. + Identifies 5S opportunities and takes initiative to clean, organize and improve department cleanliness. + Interprets production schedules to set-up equipment in support of production demand. + Installs injection molds into molding machines to company procedures. + Sets up injection molding machines to company procedures. + Prepares all auxiliary equipment for production support, including but not limited to drying equipment, debating equipment and packaging requirements. + Prepares raw materials for production support. + Reports labor and production transactions accurately in ERP system. + Supports other areas/functions within the department/facility when requested to support production operations. + Performs equipment start-up and shut down maintenance and troubleshooting operational issues with tooling, machines or auxiliary equipment. + Complies with all organizational, local and federal safety and health regulations **Qualification Requirements** **Credentials/Experience:** + High school diploma or equivalent + 2-5 years' plastic injection molding operator experience + Forklift Certification preferred. + Proven experience in successfully setting up and processing injection molding machines required. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Strong communication skills + Basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication) + Ability to use basic measuring tools including but not limited to calipers, height gauges and comparison charts + Ability to use basic processing equipment including but not limited to drill presses, deburring tools, and cutting pliers **Other Requirements** **Work Environment** The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
