About KYTC Division of Driver Licensing The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is a very diverse state agency that directly touches the lives of citizens and travelers every day. KYTC services are at work in all 120 counties and 12 highway district offices from highways, roads, bridges, vehicle licensing, driver licensing, and highway safety. The Division of Driver Licensing (DDL) within KYTC is responsible for the issuance of driver's licenses, maintaining driver's records, and managing driver safety programs. Recently, the Department of Homeland Security enacted federal rules for "Real ID" issuance and record keeping. KYTC must enact these rules to issue federally complaint driver licenses before October 2020. This opportunity is based in Frankfort, KY at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The rollout of a new digitized license computer system across the state will require travel to issuance locations to all sections of the state.
