Pros of working at Tele-Optics

- Training is paid. - You can be hired without an IT experience, they do not require that you have any background or education in IT. - Management essentially doesn't exist, so you won't be micromanaged and can work very independently. However, this is only half true, as things have been changing over the past year with the new Help Desk supervisor. - PTO/Vacation Pay is earned at base values each year instead of being accrued slowly over time. - Coworkers are friendly and helpful.

Cons of working at Tele-Optics

- Initial pay is very low for work involving inbound calls, even more so when you consider that the job entails providing specialized IT Support and isn't just processing credit cards, transactions, dispatching roadside assistance, etc. Base pay is not increased by having a background or education in IT. - Raises are extremely rare and often very little. In my 4+ year tenure, I only saw 2 raises and they weren't much. - Company does not like to pay overtime and will avoid doing so at any cost, so much that they will advise you to transfer any hours over 40 during any given week to the following week (and come in later) to avoid overtime pay; this of course is illegal wage theft. They do offer overtime on the rare occasion that one of the 12-hour shift employees is unable to make their shift. - PTO/Vacation Pay is not paid out upon termination or resignation on your own terms, despite the company handbook stating that it will be. Attempting to collect this will result in gaslighting by any means to avoid paying out the PTO/Vacation that you rightfully earned. - The 12-hour/Shift Employees are not provided a lunch, despite this being illegal in the state of Tennessee. - Absolutely no room for advancement. The company is rife with favoritism and "good ole boys" mentality, this determines your ability to advance, not your technical skills or ability to perform job duties. It doesn't matter if you goof off, so as long as you are socializing with the right people and indulge them. If you are a 12-hour/Shift Employee, you will never advance nor escape this position. -Management is petty over insignificant things, not so much to be overbearing but enough that it is demotivating and frankly annoying. - Remote work was made available during COVID-19 but has since been changed to a pointless hybrid schedule. Company prefers forcing an unnecessary commute to an office that is often loud and obnoxious and making you work on lesser sub-optimal setups for a couple days a week. - The company views you are disposable and will abandon you the moment you dare to stand up for yourself.

The relaxed atmosphere and how friendly the co-workers are.

How would you improve Tele-Optics's culture?

- Treat employees like adults, not children to be micromanaged or mistreated. - Provide a competitive wage and raises. - Ensure that all company policies are accurate and up to date. - Offer the ability to work completely on-site or off-site, a hybrid schedule does not make any sense for an IT position. - Stop gaslighting employees and retaliating against them for standing up for themselves.

What do you like best about Tele-Optics's CEO and the leadership team?

They are mostly hands off, unless they have a personal issue with you.

How did you prepare for the Tele-Optics interview?

Making sure my resume was up to date.

How does your compensation at Tele-Optics compare to the industry average?

Below competitive rates, pretty much all other call centers pay several dollars more per hour.

What's the diversity at Tele-Optics like?

It's decent, but could be better. This is one of the better aspects of the company.

What brings you the most joy at Tele-Optics?
