The technician will ensure compliance with DOT standards and internal repair quality expectations.
Job Duties:
Perform quality repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks per manufacturer specifications.
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify damaged, worn, or broken parts.
Create and execute job repair plans based on diagnostics, including estimating labor hours and required parts.
Diagnose and repair electrical systems, A/C systems, emissions controls, and other diesel engine components.
Complete PM services, DOT inspections, and documentation accurately and thoroughly.
Use diagnostic software and follow electronic repair procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, both on customer sites and in the company vehicle
Maintain accurate records for invoicing and warranty claims.
Utilize company tools appropriately and maintain a personal tool inventory per company policy.
Support and train junior technicians as needed.
Adhere to all safety, EPA, and company policies.
Work Experience and Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years of diesel repair experience; 5-7 years preferred in fleet, dealership, or mobile technician environments.
Education: Certificate from a technical school or equivalent hands-on experience.
Certifications (preferred or required):
Valid Driver's License
DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain)
ASE Certifications: T4 (Brakes), T7 (HVAC), T8 (PM)
MACS 609 or equivalent mobile A/C certification
Skills:
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across multiple systems (brake, emissions, electrical, HVAC).
Familiarity with repair planning and parts reuse.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and diagnostic software.
Clear written and verbal communication.
Ability to work in physically demanding environments.
Work Environment & Physical Demansds:

The primary function of a Field Service Technician is to provide outstanding service and support to all customers whether it is trouble shooting over the phone or on-site service. Provide professional assistance, support, and service when on-site at a customer's facility, remembering that each customer is valuable to our business.
Recommend parts and other services to customers while on-site at their facility, leaving the customer with a feeling that our client can fulfill all their needs.
Never leave a job unfinished, whether it is in-house or on-site at a customer facility.
All jobs should be completed, and the customer should be fully satisfied before a job is considered complete.
In extreme circumstances when this is not achievable, please contact your manager before leaving an incomplete job or service.
Forward any potential sales lead to Sales team, including appropriate contact information and potential sales opportunities.
Maintain accurate documentation of all services, including detailed trip reports, services provided, accurate time allocation, customer information, and any follow-up required with the customer. and any follow-up required with the customer.
Follow up with customers on services performed at their facility to ensure that they are nothing less than 100% satisfied and all their issues have been fully resolved.
This follow-up should occur within a couple days from the service visit and documented on the job.
Accurately complete all M1 (ERP system) paperwork for services provided both on-site and jobs performed in-house.
Ensure that service-related jobs are completed correctly and ready to invoice.
This includes production completing the job, confirming the correct price back to the customer, shipping the job at of M1 and ensuring that all paperwork is attached (signed confirmations, trip reports, job, picking slip, packing slip, et al.).
Complete all in-house jobs properly and in a timely fashion.
This includes jobs for inventory, jobs for order, customer repairs, or other tasks assigned by management.
Check with inventory during idle time to see if there are assemblies, jobs, or repairs that need attention.
All other service-related tasks as may be requested by management.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Vocational or specialized training beyond high school in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology (Associates Degree preferred)
3+ years' work experience in electronics
A thorough knowledge and understanding of intrusion detection systems, electronic access control, CCTV, IP video, surveillance systems, fire alarm and life safety systems
Working knowledge of Focus 200, DMP, Verint and Parabit product solutions preferred
State license (C- 10) and NICET certifications preferred
Experience in commercial, fortune 1000 or government electronic security maintenance, service, or installation preferred
Shift adaptability and work in adverse exposure to elements/personal safety
Able to stand most of the day, occasionally lift heavy loads, and work long hours
Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
Use of tact, ordinary courtesy, and work in team environment

The successful candidate will travel to various school locations (approximately 90% of the time) to install, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment including VoIP phone systems, intercom systems, and network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Install, move, patch, and troubleshoot VoIP phone systems across district locations
- Retrofit and upgrade phone equipment as needed
- Manage FoIP (Fax over IP) and traditional POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) line issues by submitting tickets to AT&T and coordinating with relevant stakeholders including Facilities, Safety & Security dispatch, and other departments
- Troubleshoot and maintain intercom systems, including IP modules and bell schedules
- Access ceiling grid areas to troubleshoot data connections, check for loose connections, and inspect equipment status
- Trace and patch cables for phones and intercom equipment using appropriate testing tools
- Utilize web-based management interfaces to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues
- Respond to and resolve ServiceNow incident tickets in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain accurate inventory records of telecommunications equipment
- Collaborate effectively with various teams across departments, including IT, Facilities, Safety & Security, and School Administration
- Proactively communicate status updates to stakeholders and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors
- Travel daily to multiple school locations across Gwinnett County (mileage reimbursed)
- Work collaboratively with a team of 6 telecommunications professionals

Skills and Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in telecommunications, networking, VoIP systems, or related technical field
- Basic networking knowledge (understanding of concepts such as PoE, IP addressing, network connectivity, VoIP)
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for daily travel

Install, configure, and troubleshoot telephone and data communication systems (e.g., VoIP, PBX, LAN/WAN).
Maintain and repair cable and fiber-optic systems, including testing and labeling of cables.
Perform system diagnostics and upgrades to maintain network performance and security.
Set up voice mail systems, call forwarding, call routing, and conferencing features.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for infrastructure setup or service issues.
Document all work performed including equipment installed, settings, and system updates.
