We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Fiber Splicers to support critical maintenance operations on active telecommunications networks across the Kansas City metro area. This role is essential for ensuring network integrity and requires dedicated availability during off-peak, overnight maintenance windows to minimize service disruption.
If you are comfortable working independently on live networks during the night and excel at complex splicing, we want to hear from you.
The Critical Work (Night Shift Focus):
You will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing, and repairing faults on active fiber optic infrastructure, often working solo or with minimal supervision.
Troubleshooting & Repair:
Diagnose and repair cable plant failures on live, active networks.
Utilize OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) and end-of-line testing to identify faults, signal loss, and resolve distributed split network issues.
Complex Splicing:
Execute complex splicing operations (color-for-color and off-color) in difficult enclosures.
Perform high-count re-entries (144ct and 288ct), ribbonizing, and butt splicing .
Build, populate, and swap fiber cases/enclosures and manage tie point connections.
Physical & Field Work:
Perform work both aerial and underground, requiring the ability to climb poles/ladders and work in confined spaces.
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Who Should Apply (Level Based):
Level II/III Technician:
Experience: 2+ years hands-on fiber splicing (aerial/UG).
Skill Benchmark: Can complete 144ct loose tube re-entry (ribbon/butt splice) in under 4 hours.
Autonomy: Can troubleshoot distributed split networks independently.
Certification: OSHA 10 certified.
Commitment: Comfortable working alone during night maintenance windows and willing to work nights for 6+ months.
Senior Lead:
Experience: 5+ years fiber splicing with demonstrated leadership.

Essential Functions:
Operate Proton Therapy System, which will include, but not be limited to: Troubleshooting, Post Service Testing.
Provide highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site operation, corrective and preventive maintenance of proton therapy equipment and ancillary devices.
Clearly communicate the status of the system to the customer as well as to Mevion employees.
Work on other highly complex clinical systems related to the Proton Therapy System, including Motion control systems, CT Scanners, X-ray and Radiological technology devices and robotic manipulators directly at the customer site.
Ensuring that Proton Therapy (PT) devices are performing according to specification. Monitor daily treatments and system performance and identify any corrections or improvements the system may need. Reporting and documenting all complaints and key performance indicators of the PT device.
Ensure equipment/systems are working properly with the required level of compliance/quality/technical performance/customer satisfaction.
Maintain equipment/systems according to the maintenance schedule.
Troubleshoot PTS equipment including electrical, mechanical, and software problems.
Repair equipment/systems taking all necessary actions to solve problems.
Report and document interventions and actions undertaken with the required level of details and accuracy in accordance with facility, RA/QA and FDA regulations.
Meet appropriate key performance indicators (throughput, customer satisfaction, uptime…).
Maintaining a high degree of professional knowledge and safety consciousness according to Mevion guidelines in order to perform activities under the safest working conditions.
Maintain a clean working environment and behavior in line with the safety and regulatory rules.
Maintain calibrated equipment and tooling according to specifications.

Education, Training, and Experience:
