We are looking for a Mobile Maintenance Technician to operate an on-road service truck (bay on wheels) and assist customers with warranties, preventive maintenance, and repair services on medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. This role is a Tuesday-Saturday opportunity. This role requires traveling to customer facilities or distribution centers to deliver high-quality mobile service. Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour based on experience Location: Bergey's Truck Center-Trenton, NJ Key Responsibilities: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) services, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles in a field environment. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck systems, including: Electrical, wiring, and cooling systems Starters, alternators, fan clutches, and engine electronics Air conditioning systems Diesel and gas engines, transmissions (manual/automatic), clutches, differentials Hydraulic and steering systems, air brake systems Collect and document repair information; communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams. Upload pictures, parts usage, and repair findings into Repair Orders ("RO") using a company-issued iOS device and our proprietary TRAIT application. Complete all DOT and company documentation accurately and on time. Maintain and operate a company-issued service truck, including safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Work independently, managing your own schedule and productivity while meeting Standard Repair Times. Use logic and reasoning to troubleshoot, evaluate alternatives, and recommend effective solutions. Qualifications: Mechanical repair experience 2 years minimum (diesel, automotive, or related field). Willingness to learn about our products and systems. Self-motivated with strong initiative. Clean driving record and current DOT Medical Card. Possess and supply a set of hand tools required for the job. Basic understanding of: Electrical systems and wiring Air conditioning systems Engines (gas and diesel) Air brake systems Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening. Weekly Duties Inspect Branson/Baronette cleaning equipment for Ensolve fluid quality. Check and verify weekly PM logs in SMT and Molding areas. Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled by the Facilities Manager. Assist with scheduled equipment cleaning, lubrication, and safety checks. Support ongoing 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Monthly / Periodic Duties Change Ensolve in Branson/Baronette units as needed. Replace production Branson/Baronette fluid filters and air filters in Molding Bransons/Baronette. Conduct facility-wide inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems. Record maintenance actions and findings in CMMS (Fiix). Assist with larger maintenance projects, floor reorganizations, and new equipment installations. Additional Responsibilities Maintain facility maintenance items to support a safe, efficient workplace. Assist with construction, equipment setup, and training on new machinery. Diagnose and help repair basic electrical and mechanical issues. Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures. Participate in continuous improvement projects and training to expand technical skills. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager. Qualifications Basic understanding of industrial electricity (3-phase power, wiring, fuses, relays). Hands-on experience using tools such as multimeters and general hand tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Willingness to learn PLCs, drives, sensors, and automation systems. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Comfortable reading manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
