PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of plant operations. Coordinate with station engineering to develop and execute condition-based maintenance (CBM) programs. Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. Technologies include, but are not limited to, generator testing, voltage regulator testing, motor testing, Doble testing, protective relay testing and calibration, as well as breaker maintenance.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform predictive maintenance and calibration testing on major plant apparatus, writing reports, and maintaining the logs
Perform maintenance and calibration in support of plant operations
Provide technical support to plant operations, maintenance staff, and engineering in including technical procedure and specification reviews
Provides in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering activities and programs
Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Emergency Response duties and/or coverage, Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in engineering technology, electronics, or related field OR
High school diploma/GED with minimum of 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology or related field
Demonstrated leadership skills to include attention to safety (personal and environmental schedules, equipment and its efficient use, and the use of employees to get the job done
Travel required up to 80%
Effective communication skills in all directions
Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing, walking long distances, and standing for the majority of the time
Ability to lift a of 50 pounds
Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Technical Business Development Manager, HPC/Advanced Computing, you will:
• Research, identify and develop strategies to expand business in HPC for federal and regulated industry customers in AWS regions, with particular emphasis on AWS Government Regions adoption; including creation of new capabilities and solution sets to meet customer requirements and address emerging trends.
• Work with cross functional teams (sales, solutions architecture, product engineering, etc.) to validate customer requirements, perform feasibility studies and proofs of concept, and define and drive pathways to production adoption.
• Identify specific customer segments, industry verticals and partner markets to approach with targeted value propositions and business case proposals for HPC in AWS Government Regions. Qualifications:
ComTrain (or equivalent) certification in tower climbing, or willingness to complete ComTrain certification upon hire.

Strong computer, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear and accurate records.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage shifting priorities.

Job Responsibilities - What to Expect
Perform ribbon and single fiber optic splicing.
Terminate and install various fiber applications.
Build new and mid-entry splice cases.
Test and troubleshoot fiber optic networks.
Perform emergency support during off hours and weekends.
Drive and maintain vehicles and accompanying tools.
Provide appropriate customer service when needed.
Take pictures, create, and adjust drawings, and compile client notes as needed.

Position Overview:
NTI is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fiber Splicer to join our team in a union position under IBEW Local 20. The Fiber Splicer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of high-count fiber optic cables, ensuring optimal performance of telecommunications networks. This role requires advanced technical expertise in fusion splicing, testing, and troubleshooting, with a focus on working with live fiber networks during maintenance windows. Candidates must have a proven track record of splicing and testing for Zayo and other dark fiber providers, along with extensive experience using Fujikura fusion splicing machines, EXFO testing equipment, and FastReporter software.
Key Responsibilities:
Fiber Splicing and Installation:
Perform fusion splicing on high-count fiber cables, including 864ct, 1728ct, and 3456ct, with precision and adherence to industry standards.
Execute mid-sheath (ring-cut) splicing on high-count fiber cables to support network expansions and repairs.
Conduct live fiber network splicing during designated maintenance windows to minimize service disruptions.
Install fiber optic cables in various environments, including underground, aerial, and indoor settings.
Testing and Troubleshooting:
Perform Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) testing to evaluate fiber optic cable integrity and performance.
Conduct Optical Loss Test Set (OLTS) testing to measure signal loss and ensure network reliability.
Troubleshoot live/active network fiber issues, identifying and resolving faults to maintain service continuity.
Generate detailed FastReporter reports to document test results, splicing activities, and network performance for client submission.
Equipment and Software Proficiency:
Operate Fujikura fusion splicing machines to achieve low-loss splices on high-count fiber cables.
Utilize EXFO testing equipment for accurate OTDR and OLTS testing, ensuring compliance with client specifications.
Leverage FastReporter software to produce comprehensive reports for network documentation and quality assurance.
Additional Technical Tasks:
Pull fiber optic cables through conduits, ducts, or other pathways to support network installations.
Assist in bolting telecommunications cabinets to secure infrastructure components (preferred skill).
Install basket trays to organize and protect cabling systems (preferred skill).
Operate scissor lifts safely for aerial or elevated work (preferred skill).
Safety and Compliance:

Requirements for Hire:
Experience with Dark Fiber Providers:
Minimum of 2-3 years of verifiable experience splicing and testing fiber optic cables for Zayo and other dark fiber providers, with a demonstrated ability to meet stringent quality and performance standards.
Equipment and Software Expertise:
At least 3 years of hands-on experience using Fujikura fusion splicing machines for high-count fiber splicing (864ct, 1728ct, 3456ct).
Minimum of 3 years of experience performing OTDR and OLTS testing with EXFO testing equipment, ensuring accurate diagnostics and reporting.
At least 2 years of experience producing FastReporter reports for network documentation, with proficiency in analyzing and presenting test data.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Proven ability to perform mid-sheath (ring-cut) splicing on high-count fiber cables.
Familiarity with live fiber network splicing during maintenance windows to ensure minimal service disruption.
Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving issues on live/active network fiber.
Experience in cable pulling to support fiber optic network installations (required).
