For air traffic controllers to manage the skies, their equipment must function properly; and that's where you come in. As an Air Traffic Control Equipment Repairer, you help ensure flight safety by performing field and sustainment-level maintenance and installation of all air traffic control equipment for the Army National Guard.

As a member of the electronic maintenance team, the Air Traffic Control Equipment Repairer is responsible for the maintenance and installation of air traffic control communications, navigation aids, and landing systems. In short, planes can't take off or land without you.

Responsibilities:

+ Install, set up, rearrange, or remove switching, distribution, routing, and dialing equipment used in central offices or headends

+ Maintain the existing fiber optic and copper cabling infrastructure, including fiber path diagrams and fiber labeling that physically transport telecommunications signals

+ Maintain existing and anticipated infrastructure which includes but is not limited to: wires, cables, fiber optics, conduits, patch panels, patch cables, transceivers, and media converters. Expand and modify this physical infrastructure as approved by the CIO/G6

+ Provide analysis, expertise, and recommendations for any additional changes, modifications, new installations, or improvements to networking infrastructure

+ Work with other government or commercial entities and network service providers to connect, maintain, and document all local and wide-area network connections and network distribution systems used by the AvMC Enterprise. This shall include workstation, server, telephone, Video Teleconferencing (VTC), cable television, and any other digital distribution systems used by the AvMC Enterprise

+ Service or repair telephone, cable television, Internet, and other communications equipment on customers' property

Requirements:

+ BS/BA in related field

+ 3 years experience

+ US Secret Clearance
