OmniOn Power currently has a Telecommunications Installer (Level IV) opportunity available. This role will be 100% remote with overnight travel to customer sites in a regional area. Periodic travel may be required outside of the geographical region. The preferred location for this role is Los Angeles, CA. JOB SUMMARY: The Telecommunications Installer (Level IV) is responsible for complex installation and modification of circuits, power transitions, and equipment testing on active power systems. This role includes troubleshooting, overseeing critical work activities, and performing Site Supervisor duties to ensure timely resolution of customer issues and successful project execution. This role will report to the West Region Services Manager. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: As the Telecommunications Installer (Level IV), you will: Perform circuit modifications, additions, and removals on active power distribution systems. Execute power transition operations and test/turn-up of power system equipment. Oversee volatile and high-risk work activities on job site. Serve as Site Supervisor, ensuring project compliance, safety, and quality standards. Troubleshoot complex issues using experience and sound judgment. Plan and accomplish tasks to meet customer goals and resolve key issues in a timely manner. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in DC power equipment installation is required. Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook / Excel / Word A valid driver's license. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 100% and willingness to work different shifts (swing shifts). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift at least 40 lbs. Ability to operate motorized lift equipment to maneuver, install or remove 80-750 lb. batteries Frequently pushing or pulling of cables up to 60 lbs. Frequently climbing ladders up to 8 ft. Frequently working/standing on ladders for long periods of time Continuous standing Frequently reaching above, below or at shoulder level Frequently bending, twisting, or stooping Frequently crouching or squatting Be exposed to varying environments with moderate noise levels, nominal variations in heat and cold DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS: Strong customer service mindset Prior field engineering experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Electrical degree, certificate, or apprenticeship AC Electrical experience Proficient in using computer-based management and administrative tools, including Microsoft Office, Salesforce (SFDC), and Workfront. THE OPPORTUNITY The Radio-Microwave Unit (RMU) is responsible for the design, procurement, implementation, optimization and maintenance of Orange County's Public Safety communications systems. The RMU operates and maintains 35 radio transmitter sites throughout the County. These sites house the 6 simulcast 800 MHz interoperable Countywide Coordinated Communications Systems, numerous VHF, UHF and 800 MHz mutual aid radio systems, the County's 900 MHz paging system, 50 high capacity digital microwave transmitter/receivers and several Alert & Warning radio systems utilized for public and crisis management notification during emergencies. As an Installer you will support critical hospital operations through the installation of hospital equipment including sterilizers, lights/booms, utility connections that may be used various settings including operating rooms and sterile processing areas. You will be required to travel within a designated territory to various installation sites via company vehicle or via air travel. Travel is typically booked 1-2 weeks in advance for project planning purposes. Your travel will be up to 50% overnight travel. This will include day trips, overnight trips, up to a week at a time. Your typical hours will vary depending on Customer needs. Overtime is common in this position but not guaranteed. This is a safety sensitive position. What you will do as an Installer Collaborate with Installation Project Manager to schedule product installation in coordination with equipment delivery, customer availability, and construction schedules. Prior to installation, verify rough-in dimensions and utilities are adequate to meet equipment specifications. Ensure doorways, elevators, and hallways are sufficient to allow equipment transport to installation site. Perform installation of STERIS products, including, but not limited to: uncrating; assembling; setting or lifting product into place; leveling; connecting utilities; and testing unit. Complete service documentation electronically. Ensure Customer satisfaction through post-installation activities to include disposal of all associated packing and shipping crate material, ensuring equipment is wiped down and fingerprints are removed, and addressing any questions/issues before leaving the site. The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed Required: High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of recent mechanical experience in a construction or HVAC installation/repair field or associate's degree in Electronics, Mechanical or similar degree, plus 1+ year(s) of related mechanical experience. Plumbing and electrical experience strongly preferred. Strong technical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent interpersonal and Customer communication skills (verbal and written). Proficiency in computers and Windows software. Flexibility to handle multiple and changing priorities. Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside “normal business hours” and travel extensively to support business needs. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Travel up to 50% overnight.
