Job Description
Teledyne Imaging Sensors is an integral member of the Digital Imaging Segment of Teledyne Technologies. Imaging Sensors provides advanced imaging solutions for a variety of customers, including the DoD, NASA, prime system integrators, and commercial customers. In the civilian space arena, Teledyne sensors are the most advanced sensors on board the Hubble space telescope, and they are also found on board the majority of NASA space probes and ground based telescopes. In the DoD arena, Teledyne sensors are integrated into several major systems for persistent surveillance, chemical detection, and target identification, among others.
Semiconductor Process Engineer is a hands-on position for executing and supporting detector processing and process integration activities of high-performance infrared and visible detector arrays. This position requires working together with the wafer production processing team in the cleanroom to sustain the quality and productivity of cutting-edge imaging sensor products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities are as follows. Other duties may be assigned.
* Process integration and wafer fabrication, including photolithography, wet and dry etching, annealing, thin film, metallization, metrology, critical measurements and inspection, and process grading.
* Troubleshooting of problems associated with manufacturing processes. Process improvement and new processes development.
* Process control, documentation, process training, SPC data tracking, yield improvements, and equipment qualification.
* Collaboration with engineers in material growth, wafer processing and detector testing to develop and improve processing techniques and production capabilities.
* Assurance of all processes to be performed in accordance with the established manufacturing procedures and work instructions, and in compliance with environmental and safety regulations and AS9100 quality standard.
* Working with Manufacturing Execution system (MES) for process data collection and analysis and tracking of production activities.
* Ability to work flexible schedule and additional hours as needed.
Qualifications & Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:
* Solid background in semiconductor device design and fabrication techniques. Experiences in HgCdTe or Silicon device processing are highly desirable.
* Proven experiences with design of experiment, statistical analysis, process engineering and manufacturing process control.
* Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas to any level of audience.
* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to details and multitasking.
* Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and statistical software.
* Exemplary business ethics and work routine cognizant of safe work practices.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, material sciences or chemistry with minimum 3 years of experiences or master's degree with minimum 2 years of experiences
* Semiconductor process engineering and integration experiences with good understanding of processing techniques, device performance and reliability.
* Training in cleanroom operation and laboratory practices, including ESD training for handling of sensitive semiconductor devices.

Key Responsibilities:
Define system architectures
Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering methodologies
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Execution of trade studies to select from among multiple potential solutions
Perform Systems Requirements analysis
Management of requirements, include decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation

Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 12 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 10 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 8 year of related professional/military experience.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.
Experience with Cameo Magic Draw or another MBSE tool such as Rhapsody, Sparx EA, and Enterprise Architect.
Experienced developing various DODAF view artifacts, especially Operational and functional viewpoints, using MBSE tools like Cameo.

Summary
Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and manages the consolidation of hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical) from satellite accumulation areas to the main hazardous waste storage area. Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response and provides the distribution of hazardous materials to the production and manufacturing areas. Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
This role will support both Teledyne Reynolds (Torrance) and Teledyne ESP (Chatsworth).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Assists in the planning and implementation of company environmental, health and safety programs.
* Assists in periodic on-site facility audits to check for compliance with CAL-OSHA guidelines.
* Participates in the company Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Safety Committee.
* Familiar with CAL-OSHA General Industry safety programs. Including but not limited to Injury and Illness Recordkeeping, Injury and Illness Prevention Program, Lockout Tagout, Hazard Communication and Respiratory Protection.
* Familiar with South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) rules and permitting
* Coordinates the purchase and inventory of personal protective equipment
* Coordinates the purchase of chemicals and distributes chemicals to the production and manufacturing areas
* Ensures hazardous waste is managed in accordance with Federal, California hazardous waste regulations and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
* Interfaces with public regulatory agency representatives and serves as the liaison for Teledyne during compliance audits in a cordial and professional manner.
* Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field and 5-10 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Process driven with excellent interpersonal communication skills required.
* Ability to partner with and effectively communicates to management and supervisory staff in both oral and written.
* Skilled in mathematics and chemistry, with computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
