Job Description Summary: Actively involved in all aspects of the Supply Chain, including planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and performing activities associated with procurement, material resource planning, and inventory control and management. The Supply Chain Manager leads the development of best practices and implementation of sourcing strategies for the business unit to deliver uninterrupted supply, measurable cost efficiencies, and world class sourcing. This position is responsible for coordinating all activities involved with procuring goods and services including raw material, equipment, tools, production parts, and consumables. The Supply Chain Manager will also evaluate and set goals of assigned staff; providing mentorship, technical guidance, training and direction relating to short-term and long term priorities in order to maximize departmental outcomes as well as staff personal growth and development. Tasks and assignments tend to be complex, non-routine and/or require a greater level of expertise. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlined. Duties are performed under limited supervision Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): * To over-see and drive all Purchasing related activities to assure customer expectations are met and business goals attained. * Establish partner relationships with our key suppliers * Possess a high degree of comprehension of the overall procurement process and commodities/categories being procured * Develop and implement daily, monthly, and quarterly tracking metrics that pinpoint key accountabilities * Research and Forecast price increase/decrease for categories/commodities and react accordingly to minimize cost * Execute periodic internal audits to ensure that purchasing processes and procedures are followed * Play an active role in engineering design reviews with a focus on purchased components and material * Use market knowledge to challenge the organization to minimize cost of material to be used as well as get a jump on long lead items to minimize expedite charges * Responsible for setting and attaining stretch goals for Purchasing that support the objectives of the organization in the areas of material efficiency, cost reduction, freight, and safety * Hold our supplier base accountable for Quality and On Time Delivery as well as introduce "Lean" concepts to them with a focus on partnering with Teledyne to increase flexibility, improve delivery, and reduce cost through effective supply chain management * Oversee supplier compliance function for the business unit including Master Supply and Non-Disclosure agreements in need of modification and/or renewal Coordinate and facilitate supplier collaboration or early supplier involvement (ESI) meetings to educate the organization of the opportunities in the market * Champion cost reduction efforts by establishing goals/metrics in regards to purchased items (components and raw) for the Purchasing team; establish expectations and hold team accountable to deliver * Become a change agent in initiating and improving processes and practices that are not working effectively * Responsible for all training aspects in the department. Identify the need, coach, and train or coordinate external training * Coordinate with other departments as required for implementing systemic improvements * Assure the working environment is safe for the employees and enforce safe work practices with the team * Comply with and enforce, all company policies as they apply to the area of responsibility * Maintain excellent communication and working relationships with all departments within the company * Be proactive by working with Engineering, Operations, Sales/Quotations, and Project Management to assure they are informed of the market trends and react accordingly * Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines. * Perform other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Vice President of Supply Chain and Purchasing Supervisory Responsibilities This job provides general supervision to functional areas which may include supervision of lower level supervisors and direct supervision of other exempt and non-exempt personnel. Under limited supervision, the Field Service Technician applies knowledge of electronics and circuitry to test, repair, and install a group of Sperry Marne (SMI) products. Will analyze system malfunctions and make repairs under tight shipboard schedules. Will use complex schematics and/or blueprints to achieve objectives for assigned tasks. This role is in a shipboard working environment: regularly attending vessels at docks and loading facilities, at anchorages via crew boat transfers or by helicopter; working on radar masts 50-60 feet above deck or in spaces 100 feet below main deck; working also in shipyards around new construction on ships; works exposed to weather at times. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and tests marine products, normally aboard customers' vessels but may include land based and shop work. Oversees and supervises the shipboard installation of all Sperry Marine products. Stays with installed product during sea trial and makes adjustments to ensure proper working order. Performs training aboard ship to satisfy customer operational requirements. Provides and assists in the training of less experienced employees. Establishes and maintains customer relationships through routine visitations and contacts at customers' offices and vessels. At all times, promotes the company's products and services through customer relationships. Performs administrative functions including job paperwork, time sheets, expense records, and computer entries of such records. Prior to jobs aboard vessels, studies previous service records and secures sufficient information, tools and spare parts to ensure a high success rate. After jobs aboard vessels, provides adequate follow up to ensure customer satisfaction or to arrange follow up service. Prepares service reports on product malfunctions and reports of weekly activities. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma Strong technical, electronic experience; or an Associate's Degree (preferred) in a technical discipline plus evidence of technical, electronic experience. 4 years of experience in electronic troubleshooting/diagnostics. Must be able to apply electronic and electro-mechanical theory. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid FCC General License plus radar endorsement. Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 40-50 lbs. Must be able to take a launch service 5 to 100 miles offshore and board by Jacob's ladder. Ability to work in areas of height or close spaces. Ability to be subject to a variety of atmospheric conditions. Ability to use standard test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, RF testing sets. Solid understanding of basic computer networking/IP addressing. Basic understanding of NMEA/IEC serial interfacing. Experience with Marine Navigation equipment, to include RADAR, Gyrocompasses, Steering/ autopilot systems, and ECDIS (Desirable). This role is 2nd Shift - Monday - Friday 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM $1.00 per hour shift differential added to base pay **In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Examines shop order to determine part, material, operation and quantities. + Checks parts against print and shop orders for dimensions and weld size to be applied. + Selects and adjusts current, polarity, voltage, filler material, shielding gas, etc., in accordance with welding procedure specification (WPS). + Read, interpret and follow weld procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR). + Interprets drawing welding symbols, sets up, tacks and welds parts together according to procedure specified. + Ensures parts are free from paint, varnish, scale rust, etc., in area to be welded.
