    This entry-level position is responsible for learning and training on a variety of tasks to process, dry and package whey products that meet customer expectations and support the achievement of the company's vision, mission and values. Essential Functions Provide assistance to operators and learn the basics of each position. Perform preventative operator maintenance (POM) duties and complete additional cleaning tasks as determined by the supervisor. Provide support to Whey Operator during CIP process. Monitor, test and correct CIP concentrations. Assist and support cleaning-related POMs. Assist in CIP on MP RO/POL, Water HTST and all associated lines, tanks and equipment according to SOPs. Provide support to Lactose Operator and Evap Operator during CIP process. Monitor and sample RO/POL/HTST process during shutdown, CIP, and startup at specified control points and correct any deviations from defined analytical set points. Transport finished WPC80 and Lactose to storage. Maintain good communications with lead and/or supervisors to ensure a safe, continuous product flow and proper maintenance of equipment. Complete and maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping. Operate and monitor assigned food safety preventative controls including verification activities, equipment operation, records requirements and corrective action database. Safely handle, prepare and use chemicals while wearing proper PPE. Attend and/or complete required safety and quality training sessions by the assigned deadlines. Comply with all company safety rules to achieve no injuries and no lost time accidents. Understand and adhere to all food safety, GMPs, and OSHA policies and procedures. Adhere to all standard GMPs and performs all work in a manner that ensures the highest standard of food safety and quality.     The Machine Shop Supervisor oversees a team within the department and holds primary responsibility for programming all CNC work centers to ensure the efficient, timely, and cost-effective production of high-quality products. Ensures quality and manufacturing metrics are established (yield & efficiencies). Identifies training needs and coordinates training for the department; in an organized and strategic fashion assuring flexibility and maintaining a balanced and smooth product flow. Leads the process of continuous improvement by means of identifying cost reduction and yield improvement opportunities. Continually monitors employee and departmental performance to ensure financial metrics are met (optimize efficiency, and minimize variances/discrepancies). Engages in the early stages of the NPI process for a smooth transition to production; including floor space requirements, staffing, and training. Delegates tasks and sets deadlines. Works cross functionally to develop cost models for new products to support make/buy decisions. Audit job documentation throughout the shift to ensure accuracy and completeness. Principal Duties/Responsibilities: To Live and Lead Safety · Manages the Site Safety Program and ensures all policies are being followed by employees · Drives housekeeping standards, including 5S · Demonstrates leadership for employee safety and/wellness through Beyond Zero initiatives To Inspire and Provide Clarity on Vision and Strategy · Develops and displays a thorough understanding of site-level and company-wide strategic initiatives · Actively supports positive change, working with the site staff to ensure understanding and effective implementation of new processes and procedures · Communicates with the team to promote an understanding of the relationship between site actions and results and overall strategic objectives To Own Our ATS Culture · Drives day-to-day execution of team-related responsibilities/team priorities using the leadership competencies that support our ATS culture · Displays behaviors that align with being self-motivated and emotionally intelligent To Support Our Employees' Learning and Growth · Manages employee performance and provides development opportunities · Mentors/coaches employees regarding career planning, training, skills development using ongoing one-on-one communication To Ensure and Drive our Business Results · Leads and ensures the Operating System is understood, reinforced, and embedded · Assists Site Manager in measuring and reporting key maintenance performance indicators including root cause analyses. Delivers on related action items, removes barriers, and addresses issues in order to promote continuous improvement · Communicates and escalates priorities, issues, and equipment status to the customer as needed, playing a key role in developing and sustaining a positive and profitable relationship with the customer · Assists Site Manager in managing expenses, such as labor, overtime, and material consumption. Approves any overtime worked by the team. · Reviews work orders and ensures adherence to work schedules. Identifies and rectifies any gaps. · Conducts and participates in team meetings as an influential leader. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies: Essential KSAs: · Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience · Strong communication skills - verbal and written · Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications, web-based applications, and CMMS software Desirable KSAs: · Foundational business acumen (understanding contracts and the customer's business, negotiation, billing models, financial experience, relationship building) · Planner/scheduler experience ideal ATS believes in fair and equitable pay.
