Job Description Teledyne Princeton Instruments, a leading organization serving scientific imaging and spectroscopy markets, is seeking for an Electronic Technician to test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electronics equipment ranging from full CCD camera systems to printed circuit boards in its Trenton, NJ office. An associate degree in Electronics Technology (or equivalent) and a previous experience in testing electronic equipment in a manufacturing environment, is required. Candidate must be capable of reading schematics and using basic equipment (oscilloscopes, DVMs, etc.) to test and trouble-shoot electronic assemblies. Excellent computer skills are a must. Candidate must also be well organized and capable of working under minimal supervision and must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Experience with optical detectors and SMT PCBs is a plus. Position Summary TJT is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, develop, and characterize packages and integrated dewar cooled arrays for infrared detectors. The successful candidate will be well versed in Solidworks and Ansys, and can prepare, generate and analyze structural (including factors of safety), thermal (computational fluid dynamics), and vibrational simulations. Previous experience with photodetectors/cameras and/or in optical design/modeling is considered a plus. The candidate will generate models and technical drawings, and support part procurement, product assembly, and product test as needed. The candidate must be able to work both independently and in collaboration with a cross functional team as necessary to ensure successful development of new products. The ideal candidate has significant experience in ultra-high vacuum processing, including but not limited to loading and unloading devices onto a vacuum manifold, getter activation and degas, pinch-off, and leak check. Experience with laser welding, and metrology is desired. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluates customers' requirements and designs/specifies the detector focal plane packaging and cooling options. Join Us!! In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Aid in the execution of engineering projects for retrofit solutions in the North American hydro power industry. Aid in the design and development of Hydro Governor and Plant Control systems. Interpret technical specifications to aid in the creation and application of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical controls. Contribute to the implementation of new system functionality based on customer requirements. Program and adapt various control logic styles, including Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Flow Diagrams. Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to ensure accurate system integration. Configure PLC and HMI software for custom applications. Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and commission systems at customer sites. Develop control narratives and hardware/software test procedures. Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Experience as a Controls Engineer working with PLCs and/or DCS.
