You'll be caring for a mix of adult patients, working closely with the care team, and handling the standard Med/Surg workflow with confidence and solid clinical judgment. Key Responsibilities Assessment & Patient Care Perform thorough, accurate patient assessments across adult and geriatric populations. Provide direct patient care and support the overall plan of care on the unit. Use emergency equipment and follow appropriate procedures when needed. Clinical & Documentation Maintain complete, accurate documentation in line with nursing process standards. Track patient progress, education, and outcomes clearly in the chart. Professional Practice Follow hospital policies and procedures. Identify opportunities for clinical and professional growth. Safety & Patient Experience Follow National Patient Safety Goals and all safety protocols. Use proper body mechanics and safe transfer techniques. Communicate with patients and families in a courteous, supportive way. Maintain HIPAA confidentiality at all times. Unit-Specific Duties Support surgical patients and tailor care based on procedure and anesthesia type. Monitor patient understanding of instructions and respond to changes in condition. Participate in pre-op and post-op assessment and education. Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) RN Duties (as needed) Ensure pre-admission testing is completed accurately and on time. Review PAT orders for clinical appropriateness based on surgery type, age, and health status. Responsibilities Telemetry RNs (Tele RNs) consult with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. The Tele RN utilizes machines that measure a patient's heart rate, blood pressure, breathing rate, as well as blood oxygen levels and electrocardiogram information.
