Job Summary: The Registered Nurse in the Centralized Monitoring Unit (CMU) plays a key role in supporting the safe and efficient monitoring of nearly 300 patients' cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status. This is a non-direct care position, ideal for a clinically skilled RN with experience in telemetry who enjoys working in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment. The RN in this role provides clinical support to a team of Central Monitor Technicians (CMTs), promotes adherence to protocols, and facilitates clear communication with inpatient care teams. This position contributes to the overall quality of care by helping ensure accurate cardiac monitoring, appropriate escalations, and consistent workflow. Job Responsibilities: · Support and coordinate the daily activities of Central Monitor Technicians to ensure timely and accurate telemetry monitoring. · Serve as a clinical resource for rhythm interpretation, protocol adherence, and telemetry best practices. · Collaborate with the CMU Nurse Educator to help provide training and reinforce department policies and procedures. · Support smooth transitions between shifts to maintain continuity of patient monitoring. · Participate in daily team huddles and contribute to unit-based initiatives. · Act as a communication link between the CMU and inpatient clinical staff, promoting timely updates and coordination. · Assist in reviewing staffing assignments and making adjustments as needed. · Contribute to quality improvement efforts related to telemetry and monitoring workflows. · Assist with coaching and guiding staff in real-time situations, promoting best practices and a supportive team environment. · Demonstrate commitment to Hartford HealthCare's mission and values in daily practice. Qualifications BSN required; MSN preferred. One degree must be in Nursing. · Candidates actively pursuing a BSN or MSN may be considered, with continued progress toward degree completion expected within five years. · Minimum one year of nursing experience, including telemetry experience. · Current CT RN license required. · Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or equivalent preferred. · Strong communication and clinical problem-solving skills. · Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. · Comfort with using clinical systems, telemetry technology, and escalation protocols. Ensures quality care is being provided through monitoring and tracking and using the information to improve the knowledge and skill of trauma care providers and promote performance improvement and patient safety within an established institution structure. · Participants in the preparation for all site visits and/or accreditations to ensure maintenance of requirements established by the State and the American College of Surgeons. · Assists in ensuring data abstraction and entry into the trauma registry database is accurate. Provides coordination and facilitation of data collection, analysis, trending and benchmarking of data and outcomes (NTDB, TQIP, etc.) using appropriate registries.
