General Functions:
The teller will provide excellent member service by performing accurate transactions, listening, educating, and identifying members' needs. The teller will share all products/services meeting those needs to best serve the member and help the credit union prosper.
The teller position will require attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, teamwork and a basic understanding of navigating multiple computer programs and the internet. Teller must always maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Reflects the credit union's core values in their daily activities and at any time they represent the credit union.
2) Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing
prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions.
3) Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records.
4) Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals; pay out money after verification of signatures and
member balances.
5) Assist with mail or email transactions, when available.
6) Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services that are
handled or promoted by tellers. Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related polices
and procedures, rules and regulations for the teller area, including robbery procedures.
7) Promote, explain, and cross-serve other credit union services such as consumer and mortgage loans, IRAs,
certificates, safe deposit boxes, debit and credit cards, on-line banking, traveler's checks, and money
orders.
8) Receive mortgage, consumer loan, and other payments, and ensure the payments match balances due.
9) Enter payments into computer. Generate member receipts.
10) Place hold on accounts for uncollected funds.
11) Count, check, and package coins and currency.
12) Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totaled amounts to computer-generated proof
sheet. Research and resolve discrepancies. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
13) Ensure that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc.
14) Report malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station.
15) Check night depository and record proper information according to credit union procedures.
16) Able to assist and backup duties and responsibilities of more senior positions as needed.
17) Provide organization-wide member service as needed by assisting with functions including, but not limited to: answering member calls, emails, and online chats.
18) Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
19) Maintains work area in an orderly manner.

General Functions:

The Universal Banker (UB) will provide excellent member service by performing accurate transactions, listening, educating, and identifying members' needs. The UB will share all products/services meeting those needs to best serve the member and help the credit union prosper.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Create a quality service experience by ensuring timely resolution to customer needs and overall customer satisfaction.
* Abides by company service standards, including greeting customers and making them feel welcome to First Mid Bank & Trust
* Proficiently service customers by accepting and processing transactions with accuracy and efficiency within policy guidelines including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, issuing cashier's checks, and additional transactions upon request.
* Gain manager assistance with any suspicious transactions.
* Obtain management approval for transactions outside authorized limits.
* Adheres to all bank compliance, security and operational policies and procedures.
* Maintains a cash drawer by performing daily balancing procedures and assist with daily operational branch duties.
* Open accounts including but not limited to checking, savings, safe deposit box, basic business related, etc.
* Performs changes to existing accounts as requested by the customer.
* Proactively looks for ways to improve processes that will improve the customer's experience and communicate those ideas to branch management.
* If applicable, allows entry of safe deposit box holders.
* Maintains professional appearance and conduct within the guidelines set forth in Employee Handbook.
* Maintains customer confidentiality.
* May participate in bank promotions, external community events, and promotional activities.
* May be required to work in other First Mid Banking centers.
* Complete other specified duties as assigned
Sales:
* Develops and maintains relationships with business partners.
* Develops and maintains strong relationships with customers.
* Educate and encourage customers to use alternate delivery systems such as ATM, Debit Card, Online, and Mobile Banking.
* Maintains knowledge of all banking products through training courses, branch meetings, corporate communications, etc.
* Identifies growth opportunities to cross sell products and makes referrals to appropriate business lines.
* Consistently meet or exceed established goals for the position.
Qualifications
Education:
* High School Diploma/GED required.
Experience:
* 1+ year of customer service and cash handling experience and/or previous experience working in a financial institution preferred.
* Previous sales experience preferred.
* Successfully completes required compliance and First Mid training curriculum to be proficient in the basic account opening process. Advancement in this role will be based on management discretion.
Skills:
* Proficient in usage of Microsoft Office and computer application.

First State Bank and Trust is currently seeking a full-time Teller to join our team. As a Bank Teller, you'll be an essential part of our team. Our teller team is the face of First State Bank and Trust and the communities that we serve. This position is responsible for the accurate processing of customer transactions as well as relationship building. Our tellers also educate customers about bank products and services.
The hours for this position are typically 8:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on rotating Saturdays.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct routine transactions within established guidelines, including cashing checks, accepting deposits, processing withdrawals, and handling loan payments.
Accurately count, verify, and handle large volumes of cash during daily transactions and balancing procedures, ensuring compliance with internal controls and security protocols.
Provide great customer service, including greeting customers warmly and professionally, actively listening to customer needs and address inquiries promptly, and handling customer complaints or concerns with empathy and efficiency.
Educate customers about our products and services, including savings accounts, loans, and credit cards. Cross-sell relevant banking products based on customer profiles.
Safeguard customers' personal information and maintain confidentiality.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the bank.
Remain alert to potential fraud and take necessary precautions.
QUALIFICATIONS
