Summary: Tellers are responsible for processing a variety of customer transactions while providing world class customer service and identifying bank products and services that would be beneficial to prospective and existing customers. Tellers are friendly, courteous and are the face of the bank. As such, tellers strive to provide a superior customer experience. The Teller role is a leveled position, beginning with Level 1 and advancing to Level 3 that focuses on product recommendations and customer service. Senior Teller is reserved for team members that have met the qualifications to advance into a branch leadership position. This position is eligible to participate in the Team Incentive Plan (TIP).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
Greets customers and facilitates a welcoming environment.

Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements.

Orders daily supply of cash and counts incoming cash.
Balances currency and coin in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on teller machine and/or other corresponding reports.
Generates new business and expands relationships with current customers by cross-selling bank products and services that would benefit each individual as opportunities arise.
Receives deposits via mail and counts and balances cash in night depository. Accepts utility bills and loan payments.
Cross trained on all areas of deposit operations to serve as a backup to these duties, when necessary, especially new account duties.

Answer basic customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges, and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy policies.
Refer customers to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line.
Accept loan payments: verify payment amount and issue receipts.
Ensure teller station is properly supplied.
Balance currency, coin and checks in case drawer at the end of each day.
Straighten cash in drawer and prepare it for selling to the vault.
Train as a backup for vault teller, ATM balancing and maintenance.
Assist with night vault.
Assist with closing procedures.
Check and maintain all inventory of stock necessary to operate Teller-Line.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Assist other Team Members as needed.
Follow all bank policies and procedures.
Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
Effectively work and cooperate with supervisors, co-workers and customers.
Follow the direction of supervisor.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
High school diploma or GED required.
Training form Vocational or Technical school helpful.
Cash handling or sales experience preferred.
Six months to one year experience handling large monetary transactions preferred.
Proficient computer, 10 key, and typing skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities:

Frequent lifting (up to 50 pounds of coin, paper supplies or minor office equipment).

Description: Provide accurate cash handling and positive client relations while performing a variety of service functions, including cashing checks, processing savings, checking, and loan transactions. Also sells cashier's checks. Bank Tellers are responsible for balancing each days transactions and verifying cash totals at the COB.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement, and enters deposits into computer records.
Process large cash deposits.
Cashes checks and processes withdrawals; pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
Receives and issues receipts for checking and savings account deposits.
Receives mortgage, consumer and other payments and ensures the payments match balances due. Enters payments into computer. Generates customer receipts.
May have to balance and add currency to the ATM in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
Places holds on accounts according to REG CC Policy.
Counts, checks, and packages coin and currency.
Balances cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
Ensures that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
Reports malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station.
Is responsible for checking night depository bags and recording proper information on the financial institution's forms.
May be responsible for opening and/or closing procedures.
Provides a variety of other services.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of in-house teller training course
Good interpersonal communication and computer skill; ability to operate standard office equipment such as ten-key.
Previous teller experience preferred but not required.
