* Assisting customers by answering questions such as item price or location, and handling bulky/heavy items.
* Counts change fund, sets up cash drawers, and verifies the accuracy of each drawer.
* Turns on the master cash control processor and sets up the office terminal(s) for the day's business.
* Issues change to cashiers. Operates cash register, as needed.
* Periodically checks cash register drawers to prevent extensive fund accumulation.
* Bags and seals cash and checks, makes up change list for secure pick up and deposit.

You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 0530 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. RESPONSIBILITIES FOR TELLER POSITION
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:
* Greets members entering the branch, directs them to the correct staff member for assistance and provides assistance with ATM usage, coin counting machine, safety deposit boxes and other branch services.
* Responsible for providing excellent customer service while performing a variety of paying and receiving functions including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers' checks, money orders, and cash advances.
* Verifies cash totals and balances each day's transactions.
* Educate members of credit union products and services.
* Balances ATM machines, coin counters, and cash recycling machines in a timely and accurate manner.
* Ensures members are promptly and professionally served.
* Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
* Provides superior service to our members.
* Proactively support and advance HCU's brand platform.

REQUIREMENTS FOR TELLER POSITION
* High school graduate or equivalent.
* At least six months to one year of customer service and cash handling experience preferred
* Experience working in a financial institution is helpful but not required.
* Proficient with technology and variety of software including MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Well organized and attentive to detail
