Job Description: U.S. Pipe and Foundry is seeking a Production Supervisor. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the production operations in the assigned department through the daily execution of processes and procedures. Ensuring the effective supervision of the assigned hourly employees engaged in the production process and focusing on safety, people, production, quality, and delivery standards of U.S. Pipe and Foundry. Essential Functions: Leads the work of hourly production employees to ensure that working procedures are followed in a manner that provides safe operation while maximizing quality and productivity as well as managing labor cost. Ensures that daily production schedules are met, and if not, captures the reasons for missing the daily plan. Uses daily Leader Standard Work to manage the process and quickly identify process deviations. Uses root cause analysis to determine action items to prevent reoccurrence of issues that cause gaps to standards. Must have experience in working on mechanical equipment/tooling. Should have the ability to trouble shoot/diagnose mechanical problems - especially on the Core making equipment. To supervise both production and craft employees to ensure quality cores are made, tooling is properly maintained and check at appropriate intervals. Ensures that work is conducted safely, that safety rules are adhered to, and that work areas are maintained in a safe and orderly fashion. Conducts regular area safety inspections and 5S audits. Investigates incidents fully and documents in the accident investigation system in a timely manner. Ensures that any corrective actions that arise from accident investigations are implemented in a timely manner. Communicates frequently with crew members to maintain awareness regarding unsafe conditions and behaviors. Maintains open communication with assigned crew on a daily basis to address any safety, quality, production, maintenance, housekeeping, or personnel issues. Uses Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data to understand sources for driving performance and work on improvements when results are not meeting targets. Ensures that production equipment is set up properly and is maintained in good operating condition. Ensures that all material and equipment required to perform daily work is available. Maintains direct contact with maintenance supervisors to communicate equipment conditions and to aid in developing a priority for maintenance activities. Develops and executes a documented plan to make sure assigned hourly employees are properly trained and qualified to perform their assigned position within their job classification. Works with Area Manager and Continuous Improvement personnel to identify, document, communicate, and implement process improvements, including participation in and sustaining 5S and Kaizen improvements. Fills in for other Production Supervisors when needed for vacation, planned outage or any other scenario. Fill in work can be on any shift. Perform other duties as assigned Skills and Other Requirements: Minimum of 5 years previous supervisory or management experience in a heavy union or non-union fast paced manufacturing and/or construction environment is required. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering such as Industrial, Electrical. Mechanical and Manufacturing and/or related field desired. Previous ductile iron products experience with a good understanding of production operations or similar manufacturing operation is a plus. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is a plus. Foundry experience highly desired.

    Main Purpose: The main purpose of the Offshore Combo Fitter is to perform job functions required and assigned in iron fabrication as steel structures per the contract/job specifications and quality assurance requirements/fitting procedures and established ISO/QC program standards. This position is located Offshore in the Gulf of America, formerly known as the Gulf of Mexico. Essential Functions: * Study engineering drawings to determine materials requirements and task sequences * Read and interpret blueprint and specifications * Perform mathematical calculations, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, angles, etc. * Measure, cut, fit, and install structural/pipe plate, pipe material, beams, plate, pipe, etc., per blueprint and job specifications * Locate and mark workpiece from drawings cutting lines, checking for material thickness, welding shrinkage, and other component specifications * Straighten warped or bent parts using sledges, hand torches, and straightening procedures * Follow fitting procedures and principles used in fabricating offshore jackets, decks, heliports, production facilities, etc. * Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools * Lays out and installs piping, equipment, and other mechanical systems in compliance with construction drawings and specifications * Inspect work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness * Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications using squares and measuring tapes * Know how to pull coordinates to find pipes and get measurements * Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing * Perform other duties assigned by supervisor Benefits Offered: * Earned Wage Access * Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance * 401(k) with Company Match * Paid Holidays * Paid Vacation * Life Insurance * Disability Insurance * Safety Awards * Company Store * Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Requirements Physical Requirements: * Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing * Turning, twisting, bending, and balancing * Pushing, pulling and reaching * Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds Job Requirements: * 5+ years of experience and be able to successfully demonstrate the ability to pass a written and practical pipe fitter or a structural test * Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen * Must be able to pass a background check * Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing * Valid TWIC card Desirable Experience, Education, Training: * Highschool diploma or GED Tools, Equipment and Technology: Fitters must know of and use cutting torches, measuring tapes, calculators, levels, man-lifts, high-reach equipment, welding machines, chipping hammers, pressure chippers, power grinders, etc. Must be able to read and write. Environmental Conditions: 80% to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel, /or gas, etc.) Gulf Island will not sponsor applications for work visas. Specific Responsibilities: * Receives wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done. * Analyzes all types of drawings and wiring diagrams to locate and install circuits and equipment to determine material or replacement needs and to select a logical approach to "trouble shooting" and repair problems. * Plans details of working procedure to affect the most logical approach to the job. * Considers all safety precautions and the proper isolation of circuits to cause a minimum of interference to operations. * Determines necessary tools and equipment. * Plans and performs work requiring a thorough working knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of equipment. * Locates source of trouble of any type of electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operation. * Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts, or replaces faulty parts, wiring on motors, generators, motors, power distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, etc. * Reassembles, tests, and adjusts equipment for safe and proper operation. Performs work on "hot" lines as required. * Replaces coils, resistors, rheostats, relays, etc. * Adjusts contactors, relays, bus rigging, etc. * Reconnects terminal leads, panels boards and distribution feeders. * In emergencies, shunts out defective coils in order to get equipment back in operation. * Changes DC motor characteristics by shunting DC coils, etc. * Installs conduit, fittings, switches, controls, and fixtures, and wires and connects all types of electrical equipment as required for new installations or replacement of facilities. * Makes all required splices and connector joints. Adjusts all new equipment for proper operating characteristics. * Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition. * Clean up all work areas. * Performs any other duty supervisor assigns. Qualifications: * Must have a minimum of 3 years of electrical work experience or successful completion of an electronics curriculum from an accredited program. * Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and drawings. * Must have experience trouble shooting and repairing electrical problems. * Computer experience is desired, previous PLC experience required. * Must be able to wire motor control circuits and push-button circuits.

(Work Instructions (WIP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Energy Isolation Checklists (EIC). * Assist the IT Plant System Specialist with the installation, upgrading and general maintenance of production systems hardware and software work on major repair jobs, new installation jobs and modifications to plant machinery and equipment. * Performs other duties as assigned. Skills and Other Qualifications: * Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience in the field is desired. * Must have at least 3 - 5 years of industrial electrical experience. * The ability and willingness to work on any shift, and be on call, overtime, and weekends. * Must have strong PLC, software and electrical and electronic control systems programming and installation experience. * Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the foundry or related industry. * Minimum of three (3) years of project or plant engineering experience, preferably in the foundry or heavy metals industry. * Computer proficient with the ability to utilize common software programs. * Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment with proven ability to diagnose and trouble shoot hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems including PLC controls. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interpret and present technical data. * Ability to work across departmental lines and perform effectively in a cross-functional team culture. * Capable of working in a diverse workforce in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. * Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. * Previous SAP knowledge is a plus.
