TGA Premier Sports in Northern Westchester is one of the fastest growing TGA franchises and we NEED COACHES! This posting is specifically for individuals who would love to teach the game of TENNIS to KIDS.

We are looking for responsible individuals who are passionate about teaching kids. TGA uses youth sports as the vehicle to teach kids ages 5-14 a skill, while incorporating education, character development, and proper etiquette. We do it in the comfort of their own school or community. We do all this while making FUN and SAFETY our two top priorities.

Coaches can work 1 days per week all the way to 7 days per week, getting 2-5 hours per day during the school year and up to 6+ hours during the summer.

We are looking for both lead and assistant coaches. Coaches must be at least 16 years of age. We train all staff on the TGA curriculum, so extensive coaching experience is not required.

We have programs year round and work with coaches' flexible schedules. We have programs all over Northern Westchester, and will do our best to schedule you close by where you would be driving from. We will compensate for travel if we ask you to drive more then 10 miles to a location.

We are looking to hire 3-5 coaches for the spring/summer sessions, so please pass this along to friends and family who may be interested in a part time position.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are hiring part-time coaches with training to teach tennis classes in our after school sports and enrichment programs. Positions would start in September 2022 and last through May-June 2023.


About the role: Our tennis coaches are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a series of age-appropriate introductory to intermediate-level lessons for children and young adults from Kindergarten to middle school. Typically, our coaches work anywhere from 2-5 days and 10-20 hours per week (depending on availability and skill set) at a competitive hourly rate.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Commit to a weekly schedule of tennis classes (2-3 hours per day) at assigned schools located in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx
  • Lead age-appropriate tennis lessons for 10-15 children in our sports specific programs
  • Implement a curriculum of engaging, skill-based activities that can be adapted to children’s various learning styles and developmental needs
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and supervision skills to accompany children to tennis matches throughout the week
  • Display patience and utilize positive behavior management skills to manage children’s behaviors and respond to their needs


Qualifications: If you have experience leading tennis games for large groups of kids, want to become a stronger coach, or already have a background as a tennis coach, this role is for you!


Weekly Schedule: Our tennis coaches are expected to work 5-10 hours per week to run after school sports classes on weekdays and weekend sports programs. Most sports classes operate 2 days per week (Mon-Fri) and Saturday mornings (9am - 1pm).


Compensation: This is a part-time, hourly position. We offer competitive hourly rates in the range of $30-35 per hour for after school tennis coaches based on prior experience as a general coach, teaching, youth development specialist, or tennis specialist.

Our ideal coach would meet some or all of the following qualifications:

  • Experience coaching/teaching groups of elementary and/or middle school children
  • Possess at least two years of prior coaching/teaching experience in tennis programs; experience with competitive tennis environments is strongly desired
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to relate to younger children, work with different age groups, and partner with school staff to support children’s physical and emotional need
