The Teradyne Factory Applications group is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, and self-driven engineer to join our Digital and Software products team. You will work on projects collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the company, as well as develop imaginative, thorough, and practical application solutions.
In this position, we are looking for someone who can leverage their experience into a multifaceted technical role - being an expert in our products for outbound activities, and representing the broad user base for inbound new product development.
* Leading member of product development teams with engineering, representing the broad user base -defining use cases and requirements, and performing post-implementation validation. * Participate in key design-ins acting as a consultant, ensuring technical success

* Develop knowledge and expertise on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) - specifically the UltraFLEX family of Teradyne testers - with a focus on our Digital, Serial, DC, and Software product areas.
* Support customers on tester operation and capability.

* Develop strong customer relationships at a technical level, to gain a deeper insight of the current usage and future direction of our products.
* Evaluate problems and recommend solutions on Teradyne ATE platforms to optimize customer throughput and test quality.
* Work directly with customer test engineers to understand and improve their test processes.

* Bachelor or higher degree in EE, or CE.
* Experience >6 years in Semiconductor field.
* Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals (digital logic, digital communications and transmission, signal processing, power delivery a plus).
* Proficient with general software programming (preferred .NET - C#, VB) and common algorithms.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively both within a team and on your own - planning, execution, tracking, and reporting.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills - a commitment to teamwork and "can-do" spirit.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to develop and deliver clear and effective presentations on complex topics.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $126,800 to 202,800. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.

About the Role

ML/AI Cloud Operations & Engineering

Establish governance frameworks for ML/AI infrastructure management (e.g., provisioning, monitoring, drift detection, lifecycle management) and ensure compliance with industry-standard processes.
Define and ensure principled validation pathways (testing, QA, evaluation) for early-stage GenAI/LLM/Agent-based proofs-of-concept, across the organization.
Lead and provide guidance on Kubernetes (k8s) cluster management for ML workflows, including choosing/implementing workflow orchestration solutions (e.g., Argo vs Kubeflow) and data-pipeline creation, management, and governance using tools such as Airflow.
Design and develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) in AWS CDK (in Python) and/or Terraform along with GitOps to automate infrastructure deployment and management.

Required Skills & Experience
Deep understanding of the Data Science Lifecycle (DSLC) and proven ability to shepherd data science or ML/AI projects from inception through production within a platform architecture.
Expertise in feature stores, model registries, model governance and compliance frameworks specific to ML/AI (e.g. explainability, audit trails).
Experience with monitoring tools for ML/AI (latency/throughput SLAs, model drift, resource usage dashboards).
Experience with Ray for end-to-end workflows to scale data processing, modeling (training, tuning, serving); and experience with scaling RL is a nice-to-have too!
Expert in infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices, with demonstrable skills in Terraform, AWS CDK (Python), Argo CD and/or other IaC and CI/CD systems.

Role Overview
As a key contributor to our development team, you'll play an integral role across all stages of product design, development, maintenance, actively participating in feasibility, requirement, architecture, design, implementation, integration, and verifications. Design embedded software for edge computing systems. Build automated measurement and/or data collection systems. The SoftwareEngineering team in North Reading is looking for a SoftwareEngineer with passion for learning, developing high quality software, solving complex problems and becoming part of a smart and innovative team. Are you able to balance a variety of tasks related to requirements definition, software system design, development, testing, trouble-shooting, and maintenance? Interact with multi-functional teams from the product definition stage through product release? Then you're exactly who we're looking for! This role has some hybrid flexibility however the candidate must be able to work on-site at the North Reading office.
* Understand customer requirements and find solutions that fit within our existing software architecture
* Design, implement, test, and deploy software components for Teradyne's family of Automatic Test Equipment
* Create robust designs with a focus on scalability, high performance, and maintainability
* Conceive and implement fully functional and high performing software solutions
* Discuss and review deliverables with your fellow team members and provide feedback
* Work with software verification engineers to devise, document and execute effective test strategies and plans
* Document all software changes to facilitate a smooth transfer to Software Qualification and Sustaining teams
* Tackle difficult problems and come up with innovative software solutions
* Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to improve our product, our process, and our team
All About You
* 2-5 years of experience developing software systems for commercial applications
* Experience with C++, C# and .NET development
* Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms, and operating systems (Windows, Linux)
* Experience with development tools: Visual Studio, Clearcase/Git
* Experience with Development Lifecycles including Agile
* Experience working in the Semiconductor Test Industry
* Proficiency in OOD and OO language (C, C++, C#)
* Experience working in hardware/software development environment
* BS/MS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
