I have worked with Java for 20 years and in technology for over 25 years. I was spec lead of JSR107:JCache and am the founder of Ehcache. I was also on the JCP Executive Committee. I am also a frequent conference speaker and a recipient of the Java Rockstar award.

I was CTO and CEO of Hazelcast, Inc, a startup based in San Mateo, California. Prior to Hazelcast, I was CTO at Terracotta, (acquired by Software AG in 2011). I was also Chief Architect at Australian travel startup Wotif.com which went to IPO.

I have a Master’s degree in Information Technology from QUT and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland.
