What to Expect Tesla's in-house Cathode Manufacturing Facility is located in Austin Texas. This investment is critical to our mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy and represents our efforts to increase the supply of cathode in North America. Chemical Operators work on a commissioning-based schedule, focusing on field and control room chemical unit operations for safely running process systems and associated equipment during their shift, and provide data to senior operators. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, be safety conscious, display attention to detail, be adaptable, work with minimal direction, have good communication skills and be able to work in a team-based environment. The successful candidate will safely and efficiently operate equipment necessary as a Chemical Operator. This position is responsible for performing quality control testing, product packaging and loading/unloading finished goods and raw material.
What You'll Do
* Communicate with team members regarding safety, equipment status, production, quality, and operational issues using detailed written and electronic notes
* Operate equipment in accordance with all safety, quality, environmental and efficiency standards by following written and verbal work instructions
* Write and follow procedures to safely commission, operate, clear, startup, shut down, and Lock Out chemical manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
* Provide initial response to unplanned events to minimize the impact to personnel, the environment, and equipment
* Use equipment and instrumentation to monitor and record pressure, temperature, and other process conditions
* Complete facility-wide and area specific training programs to obtain certification to independently operate the plant
* Issue permits for maintenance work
What You'll Bring
* 4+ years of experience in refinery/chemical processing
* 2+ years of console operation in refinery/chemical processing
* Preferred experience in Emerson DeltaV DCS
* Ability to handle tasks from initiation to completion and the ability to adapt to changing demands and to react positively to verbal instructions
* Proficient with computers to use digital management systems and communicate effectively and must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands:
* Climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 50 lbs.

**Qualifications:**

+ Proven experience in leading or significantly contributing to data governance initiatives and/or managing cross-functional councils.
+ Demonstrated ability to influence and engage senior-level stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into compelling business value for non-technical audiences.
+ Strong understanding of data architectures, big data technologies, and cloud platforms (GCP specifically is a plus).
+ Experience with data governance frameworks, data security, compliance, and regulatory requirements in an enterprise environment.
+ Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with a proven track record of driving adoption and cultural change.
+ Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.

About the Team
EHS interns engage in variety of activities in a wide range of EHS disciplines. Under the mentorship of EHS specialists/ managers, EHS interns undertake projects directed at specific topics such as equipment safety, industrial hygiene, occupational ergonomics, environmental compliance, sustainability and training & education. They also work closely with multiple teams ranging from production to engineering to provide EHS support to day-to-day operations, conduct safety walkthroughs and audits, deliver safety trainings to employees, participate in analyses of workplace incidents and help drive corrective actions. EHS has many teams within the organization. Below you'll find examples of specific teams you may be supporting:
Construction Safety: The Construction Safety Specialist will collaborate with the EHS team and Tesla's construction management personnel to ensure that construction contractors follow their respective safety program and Tesla's overall contractor safety program. Reporting to the Manager of Construction Safety, the Construction Safety Specialist will manage safety and risk associated with several active and upcoming construction projects and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations.
Safety: Responsible in leading or participating on policy and procedure development teams of safety initiatives, pilots and roll out of new processes. This also includes setting up and managing various safety projects in person and/or virtually to include project management tracking through (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint). What to Expect As an Excavator Operator, you will be expected to contribute on job sites in Northern California and Southern California, The SouthWest US, and Pacific NorthWest US. This is a travel-based position for which nearly all work will occur on the road. **The Role**
As an engineer on this team, you will be responsible for building and supporting a petabyte-scale data platform in the cloud and providing powerful foundations for GM ML Data Platform tools, frameworks, and services.
