The Mechanical ClaimsAdjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating and negotiating minor to complex vehicle repair claims and accurately determining coverage and liability (based on the reported fact scenario). You will be measured on your ability to provide accurate benefit and adjustment amounts on claims and reach fair, efficient claims resolutions while managing costs in accordance with policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Adjudicate and authorize claims within your dollar-limit authority. Ensure the accuracy of coverage information when responding to inquiries by providing customer clarity on coverage and financial commitment.
Successfully handle an average of 50-70 inbound calls daily from repair centers and Endurance Customers/Contract Holders.
Review and determine claims based on the reported fact scenario given by the repair facility submitted through the online portal.
Collect and verify all diagnostic information provided by the repair facilities. Respond to inquiries while providing information and explanations regarding Endurance's various levels of coverage.
Manage Workflow - Process and complete all requests and documents in accordance with established processes and procedures.
Achieve and maintain agreed-upon metrics within the scheduled time. Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
Being interactive and communicative with management and co-workers in a visible manner is an essential function of the job; therefore, camera usage is required for training, team meetings, and meetings with management.
Key to Success:
High school Diploma or equivalent work experience.
1-2 years working at a dealership and/or independent auto repair shop.
1-2 years of automotive repair procedures, processes, parts, and repair costs
1-2 years of proven success negotiating and problem-solving
Ability to efficiently understand contracts/policies/procedures and apply them accordingly.
Must be able to communicate effectively with contract holders/customers, agents, dealers, internal staff, and upper management.
Experienced in ProDemand, Alldata, and Carfax is a plus
Call-center experience is a plus

* Reviews customer claims to verify that they meet Manheim's National Arbitration policies and any account-specific guidelines.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Position Summary
The Claims Specialist (Level 1) is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing the intake of new claims requests, while providing outstanding customer service to contract holders, dealers, and repair facilities. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to company guidelines, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced call center environment. The Claims Specialist ensures claims are set up accurately, customers receive timely support, and all work aligns with company quality and compliance standards.
As a Claims Specialist, your essential job functions will include the following:

Position Requirements
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in customer service and/ or claims processing, preferably within a call center environment.

From your very first day on the job, you'll receive guidance and coaching so you can learn the ropes. You'll work with everyone from buyers to sellers to dealers in coordinating and validating customer returns and claims. With Guidance, responsibilities include:
* Reviews customer claims to verify that they meet Manheim's National Arbitration policies and any account-specific guidelines.
* Investigates basic, less complex cases (e.g., late title claims, basic condition report claims, vehicle availability, post-sale inspection fails, mechanical/structural/undisclosed vehicle damage, etc.) or those requiring more prescriptive decision-making.
* Interfaces with all departments involved in the complaint (i.e., reconditioning, front office, dealer services, vehicle entry, etc.), including during the fact finding and investigative phases.
* Uses appropriate resources to investigate and facilitate relevant inspection, documentation, and communication to ensure appropriate actions are completed to move cases forward or to resolution.
* Uses appropriate levels/limits of financial approval authority to resolve cases.
* Evaluate claims by obtaining, comparing, evaluating, and validating various forms of information.
* Prepares and facilitates communication for resolution via telephone, email, and in-person discussion.
* Mediates disputes and negotiates repair and/or pricing of disputed vehicles to arrive at a mutually acceptable solution and to keep vehicles sold.
* Monitors and maintains accurate files for each arbitration case, verifying the accuracy of all required documentation, including invoices and settlement agreements.
* Engages with supervisor/manager to determine if escalation is required.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* A high school diploma or GED and less than 2 years of related experience.

* 1+ years of automotive or body shop experience.
