Lead the end-to-end electrical design of automotive BMS, including high-voltage monitoring, cell balancing, protection circuits, and communication interfaces (CAN, LIN, SPI, etc.).
Define and document the BMS electrical architecture in alignment with vehicle system requirements and safety goals.
Work with both internal and external customers on defining system and performance requirements.
Perform and guide the hardware components development of the Battery Management System (BMS), including printed circuit boards (PCBs), microcontrollers, analog and digital circuits, and sensors.
Create detailed schematics, evaluate component selection, and collaborate with PCB layout designers to ensure the reliability and functionality of the BMS hardware.
Build and test hardware prototypes, ensuring they meet performance and safety specifications and make design improvements as needed.
Develop and integrate monitoring circuits and sensors to measure key battery parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, and state of charge.
Ensure the hardware design adheres to relevant safety standards, such as ISO 26262 or IEC 62133, and conduct safety analysis.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, system engineers, and testing teams, to integrate the BMS into the overall energy storage system.
Create comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, test plans, DFMEA, WCCA and test reports.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues, making improvements to enhance BMS performance.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continually improve the BMS hardware design.
Product experience with Li-Ion batteries, battery pack design, electric vehicles, power systems, alternative energy systems, electronic control units (ECUs), MEMS, and sensors preferred.
Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence) and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE).
Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, microcontrollers, and sensor integration.
Experience with battery technologies, battery safety, and relevant industry standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C/C++) is a plus.
Proven ability to analyze electrical issues and find solutions.
Demonstrated leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team through assignments.
Proven track record in leading design teams, conducting technical reviews, and resolving cross discipline engineering challenges.

What You Drive at DDC
Serve as Product Owner of the global Electric Vehicle targets Application (GEVT). Perform Data Architecture and Engineering for the Back-End operations of the GEVT, focusing on performance improvements and stability. Create and maintain the ETL Process (Extraction, Load and Transformation) for the datasets. Define output data types. Structure the tables. Calculate and extend the available datasets. Perform Data Visualization of results of the GEVT with PowerBI and Python. Create custom Dashboards and Usage Statistics. Audit/monitor the database ensuring correct usage and data integrity. Define standardized Templates for results presentation for the Global Concepts Teams. Coordinate and implement criteria/characteristics changes in the GEVT. Perform Data Analysis and exploration using Machine Learning and Custom Python visualizations. Develop in partnership with the testing technicians, the right procedures and tools to be able to install the measurement devices into the electric powertrain. Lead the testing requirements within internal and external laboratories and/or testing centers to execute planned tests. Lead report out to internal team, testing and simulation stakeholders as well as upper management to identify areas where Daimler Truck vehicles would benefit from the learnings obtained from competitor benchmarking. The position plays a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day assembly process of our UAV jet engines in our newly created jet engine manufacturing, assembly, and test facility to meet high volume output targets and unparalleled quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership: Manage all processes related to assembly and testing of jet engines.
Team Management: Develop training documentation and train and mentor assembly technicians on the assembly and testing process.
Quality Control: Monitor the assembly process to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Conduct process inspections and tests to verify the functionality and highest quality standard of assembled components.
Documentation: Establish new and improve existing process documentation for all manufacturing functions. Develop responses to non-conformances in close relationship with customer support engineers, maintain the Corrective Action Requests (CAR) database and ensure timely implementation of any CARs.
Process Development: Develop new innovative and more efficient manufacturing processes to achieve efficiency and output goals for the new manufacturing facility. A clear focus on LEAN methodology for all processes.
LEAN Manufacturing: Participate in Gemba walks and Kaizen events. Ensure 5S compliance of all workstations. Create visual management boards to communicate with all PBSA team members daily.
Continuous Improvement: Provide ideas and innovative approaches to continue to improve PBS Aerospace's processes as a best-in-class manufacturing facility.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues and roadblocks that arise during the assembly process and testing process. Use root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys or Fault Tree Analysis. Implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Qualifications:
An associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in aerospace or industrial manufacturing process engineering of 5+ years will be considered.
Self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using assembly processes and all related tooling.
Direct experience with ERP systems.
Knowledge of safety and quality standards in manufacturing. ISO 9001 or AS9100 working experience.
Experience or certification in LEAN methodology such as LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

10% of international travel to Europe is required in the first year.
