Operations Technician - Marathon Pipe Line Company - Buckeye Area, Heath Division
Overview:
This position is for an Operations Technician located in Heath, OH that will support Marathon Pipe Line's Buckeye Area - Heath Division. This position involves working with refined petroleum products and is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company assets in full compliance with all applicable DOT, environmental, safety, and regulatory standards in support of 24/7/365 operations. Key responsibilities include executing and supporting pipeline Operations & Logistics, Damage Prevention and Right of Way relations, and performing Logistics & Storage Terminal loading rack duties as required.
The successful candidate is required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location at 840 Heath Road, Heath, Ohio.
Travel, callouts, and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to complete all necessary training to perform tasks associated with pipeline and terminal operations including but not limited to the following:
Monitoring pipeline movements
Product tank switches
Conduct product quality oversight through sampling and testing
Maintain facility and equipment per regulatory and intercompany compliance
Routine facility and equipment inspections
Routine and breakdown maintenance tasks
Respond and resolve station alarms
Emergency response
Inventory reconciliation
Assist transport carriers and drivers with loading/unloading operations
Evaluate and troubleshoot issues
Verify completion and ensure closure of work order tasks
Climb above ground storage tanks in excess of 40 feet
Provide damage prevention oversight through one-call ticket monitoring and locating
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
Associate's degree in a related technical field is preferred but not required
Previous pipeline experience with emphasis on electrical/mechanical is highly preferred
Valid driver's license and good driving record
Proficiency in basic computer skills
Self-motivated and organized approach to routine work
Must be willing to work 8-hour shift with rotating on-call responsibilities covering nights/weekends

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic provides technical support for the safe and efficient operation of terminal and logistics equipment with limited supervision. Duties include but are not limited to maintenance and repair of equipment such as bucket elevators, conveyors, pumps, and control devices. Troubleshoots issues, repairs failures of production and facilities equipment and ensures maximum efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Understands process flow and evaluates ways to increase operating efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Gathers technical information to perform the job
Performs equipment walk around and inspects and adjusts equipment; properly disposes of wastes
Performs equipment repairs, changes out parts, checks the status of equipment availability with site supervisors, and follows procedures to pick up parts and supplies from the warehouse
Responsible for all tasks related to predictive and preventative maintenance programs. Tasks include but are not limited to: repair and maintenance of all machinery and equipment such as bucket elevators, conveyors, compressors, and pumps; repair or replacement of control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, as needed
Performs work order repairs
Performs light welding and cutting to patch holes in chutes and reduce spillage throughout the system
Coordinates and plans down time efficiently to maximize uptime of production
Understands all equipment in depth from electric motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, load out chutes, gas and diesel engines, vehicle and machine repairs, with the ability to trouble shoot, analyze, and make quick responsive repairs without guidance
Able to set up operator welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to work in adverse conditions
Required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Must regularly lift and/or move 75-100 pounds frequently
Ability to work at elevated heights without fear

Job Summary
This is the first or entry craft level of the Line Tech hierarchy. A Line Technician Learner will assist a higher level technician in activities associated with substation construction and maintenance. Incumbents are expected to develop intermediate skills and the ability to work with greater independence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Clearly understand the importance of company safe work practices and safety rules.
Basic understanding of the Human Performance Tools and requirements.
Basic understanding of the isolation of line equipment and grounding practices.
Demonstrates good verbal and written communications skills.
Basic understanding of electrical drawings (line equipment schematics and power system drawings).
Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Develops the ability to think methodically and arrange activities in logical order.
Exposure to Transmission and Distribution system switching activities.
Demonstrate the basic ability to operate bucket, digger derrick truck and other areal devices.
Ability to sit for 2-3 hours; may be driving a truck or sitting on a transmission class equipment.
Ability to move frequently to unload equipment and to install/maintain/repair equipment.
Ability to frequently climb or use authorized equipment to reach various heights and breadths.
Ability to frequently and repetitively bend/stoop/squat.

Additional Job Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Operates mowers, tractors, UTVs, and other vegetation control equipment safely and efficiently
+ Performs routine mowing and grass cutting to maintain clearances around solar arrays, inverters, and site infrastructure
+ Conducts pre-operational inspections of mobile equipment and reports maintenance needs
+ Follows vegetation management schedules and work plans provided by the Solar Utility Technician Leader
+ Maintains a safe work environment and adheres to all safety protocols and PPE requirements
+ Assists with herbicide application under supervision
+ Performs minor equipment maintenance including fueling, cleaning, and routine servicing
+ Documents completed work and reports any site issues or safety concerns to the leader
+ Communicates daily with the Solar Utility Technician Leader regarding work progress and equipment status

**Job Overview**
The main focus of the job is to perform mirror and HCE tube cleaning. The position is part of a six-man crew. The team will have to be proficient in operating the mirror-washing equipment, including tractor operation, water truck operation, and mirror-washing brush equipment. When mirror wash cannot be accomplished, the team will be utilized to perform site clean-up or minor maintenance on mirror wash equipment.
