What Does A Test Engine Operator Do At General Dynamics Mission Systems

* General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Marine Operations Test Engineer for Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUV) to join our
* Quincy, MA** engineering team, supporting the
* Undersea, Autonomous and Warfare Systems** business segment.

* Key Responsibilities
* The Marine Operations Test Engineer for Unmanned Undersea Vehicles will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting GDMS systems and equipment.
* In addition, these employees prepare test and diagnostic programs, plan and arrange labor, and organize schedules and equipment required to test and evaluate standards and special devices.
* Perform ocean testing of UUV systems including direct oversight of vehicle and related equipment load out and demobilization from the support vessel, vehicle pre/post dive checkouts, test procedure completion including all vehicle operations, and all deck operations including vehicle launch and recovery
* Oversee and carry out service to the UUV as required, as well as perform offshore troubleshooting.
* Apply health, safety and environmental (HSE) best practices in all operational work
* Provide a point of external and internal customer contact that demonstrates competence, knowledge and confidence in the ability of the systems to perform its task
* Train others to operate and maintain UUVs
* Assist in maintaining cleanliness and supporting maintenance activities aboard the 60’ research vessel (R/V) Resolution
* Be prepared to respond quickly to urgent requests for operations support

What Does A Test Engine Operator Do At ASRC Federal Holding Company

* This position will be located at NASA GSFC and Suitland Federal Center in Suitland MD.
* We support NASA and NOAAs S
* NPP and JPSS
* Programs, delivering analysis, validation and verification mission-critical software for important NASA spacecraft operations.
* Candidate requires extensive background in the full life cycle testing of spacecraft ground data systems.
* Candidate shall provide requirement analysis, design, implementation, test, deployment and verification of operations concepts.
* Extensive background in system test and evaluation which includes requirements verification, system test plan development, the design of specific tests, the development of test procedures, integration and test, problem resolution and presentations to customers on test results.
* Serve as a liaison between Flight Project, Ground Project Systems and Mission Operations.
* Interface with Mission Operations technical staff to help resolve any issues that pertain to the ground software and mission operations.
* Support Ground Readiness test, Mission Rehearsals, and Spacecraft tests.
* This person will be the lead for the SNPP Block 2
* transition team and must work with multiple contractors across multiple contract vehicles in support of the Mission Readiness Organization in a challenging environment.
* Candidate must lead the development of the operations plan and execution of telemetry shadow operations with Block 1
* and then moving to full parallel ops where block 2
* will perform both command execution and telemetry monitoring.
* The candidate should understand the needs of the Flight Operations Team as well as Ground System Operations.
* Experience in Raytheon Eclipse TTC and ground system engineering desired.
* Candidate must be proficient in spacecraft operations as well as Ground system contingency operations.
* In addition, candidate should understand network routing and data management.
* Will be responsible for developing the S
* NPP parallel and shadow operations test plan and procedures so knowledge of STOL and PERL scripting is highly desired.
* Candidate should understand satellite operations (NOAA operations a bonus) as well as configuring ground systems for operations.
* Additional duties may include providing support in the test and evaluation of trending and analysis conversion.
* Update the converted daily plots evaluate accuracy of life of mission statistics with the new system (compare ported evaluation statistic with decommed statistics).
* Verify daily scheduled tasks are performing correctly.
* Port the scheduled execution of existing tools from the Cron jobs over to the new scheduler.
* Check out Block 2
* Mission Management software for JPSS
* Validate NPP Mission Management products that were modified as a result of Block 2
* Develop J1 Mission Management products
* Support the MOST, Ground and Flight Operations teams as the resident Mission Management expert with the Block 2 flight functional checkout, Ground Readiness Exercises, Mission Rehearsals, and Spacecraft tests (JCTs).
* Support/train NOAA (OSPO) mission planning team for Block 2 (JPSS and NPP) operations
* Preparation and validation of mission planning operations scenarios, procedures and tools
* Validation of Weekly Timeline Generation, including planning request processing
* Support Pre- and post-launch planning Activities
* Performs functional analysis, scenario analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, and requirements allocation and interface definition studies to evaluate compliance of software specifications with customer requirements.
* Participate in the software developer-s software Requirements, Design, Code, and Test (RDCT) walkthroughs.
* Develops independent test plans, cases, procedures, and scripts and performs independent testing of safety and mission critical software systems to ensure the system will not do what it is not supposed to do and will respond in a safe and desired manner under adverse conditions.
* Analyzes effectiveness/efficiency of NASA program procedures and processes and develops/recommends improvements.
* Prepares Technical Issue Memorandums/Problem Reports, presentations, technical reports, research papers, and other contract deliverables related to IV&V analyses performed.
* Excellent writing and communication skills are required, and ability to interact well in group meeting/working environments.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
