PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR WORKING CONDITIONS:

Consumer Services Business Unit (CSBU) Validation & Verification (V&V) Engineering team - Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Gladiator and Licensed Products.
The CSBU V&V Engineering team evaluates new products and/or product enhancements, focusing on product safety and performance. The team leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product approval cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. The team coordinates with various functions to ensure successful implementation.
This role in summary
Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for an Analyst, Verification & Validation Engineer for our Paw Paw River Technical Center location in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The engineer will provide product approval documentation ensuring validation and verification of performance, codes, safety, and regulatory requirements. The engineer will ensure test plans are aligned with the engineering team, executable according to WPD project timelines.
Your responsibilities will include
* Execute of V&V strategy & verification roadmap.
* Leverage the lab and supplier labs for component verification testing.
* Assess V&V methodology to ensure robustness to requirements given allowed design variation.
* Use critical thought / physics to help determine alternate design concepts to improve product or reduce risks.
* Utilize FMEA's to ID functional requirements, failure modes and detection methods.
* Plan and drive core V&V activities throughout execution of Production Development Projects and over the manufacturing lifetime of the product.
* Align validation and verification plan with the engineering team per project timeline and proactively manage execution.
* Ensure accuracy and clarity of lab requests / reports.
* Identify product configurations and quantities of units needed to build planning and physical testing.
* Disposition all non-compliant test results and identify any exceptions that represent risks to product leadership.
* Leverage safety audits to identify, evaluate and close potential safety hazards.
Minimum requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
* 2+ years of experience in product development
Preferred skills and experiences
* 3+ years of Engineering & Technical product development experience (various types of product experience).
* Proven tactical execution.
* Experience in Product Requirement management.
* Verification and Validation experience including lab testing operations
* Core competencies (such as, APQP, Design For Safety (DFS), System Engineer., Project Management, Product Development)
* Opex Green Belt Certified
* QFD, FMEA, Reliability and product safety tools.
* Ability to work effectively with cross functional partners.
* Continuous improvement mindset: ability to 'do and improve the work'

Job Overview:
To better serve the global auto industry electric vehicle trend in the United States, CATL, through its U.S.-based subsidiary, CATK, is seeking a talented and dedicated Environmental Systems Engineer to join our team. As an Environmental Systems Engineer at CATK, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) systems and other environmental control technologies within our facilities. You will play a critical role in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and performance monitoring of these systems. Your expertise will drive improvements in operational efficiency, environmental compliance, and energy savings.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer systems (RTO) for facility applications, including installation, commissioning, and regular maintenance.
Monitor system performance, conduct troubleshooting, and perform repairs as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
Develop and enforce policies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
Analyze quality data, identify trends, and generate reports to drive improvements in system performance and efficiency.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality assurance and operational efficiency.
Evaluate and implement energy-saving measures to optimize system performance and reduce operational costs.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for RTO systems and quality assurance for HVAC equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of air pollution control technologies and regulatory requirements.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
