As a Test and Validation Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and improving test processes to meet customer requirements. You will leverage your expertise to design, test, and troubleshoot complex electronic assemblies and test equipment, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. This role also involves mentoring junior engineers and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a second shift position which includes an 8% added pay differential.
What You Will Do
Develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs), including test instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, and tool/fixture designs.
Create and execute test plans, procedures, and strategies to validate product and system performance.
Provide technical support for manufacturing areas, including process troubleshooting, incorporating engineering changes, and maintaining test equipment.
Disposition non-conforming materials, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Analyze test data to identify performance trends, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with specifications.
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to define test requirements and resolve technical challenges.
Drive qualification and certification efforts while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Mentor junior engineers in test methodologies and best practices.
Present findings, test results, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and techniques to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Adhere to safety protocols and company policies during testing activities.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and analysis tools/software (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python).
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting RF circuits and systems.
Practical experience with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
Application of RF principles in areas such as radar, communication systems, or satellite systems.
Experience in RF shielding, grounding, and thermal management techniques.
Innovative mindset to drive continuous improvement and keep pace with evolving technology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word), statistical evaluation tools (SPC, data distribution analysis), and shop floor tools (PRISM, PDM, CMES).

QUALITY: The TestEngineer will work with the Quality group to establish the Quality plans on a product by product basis. TEAMWORK: During all of the manufacturing activities the TestEngineer will be required to co-operate with all departments within the Facility and will be required to act a pro-active team member, taking a lead role on all Test related issues.
DOCUMENTATION: The TestEngineer will be responsible for providing all process documentation and Test Programs for production build. This will include ensuring that the Test and Fixture pin out listings that are to be used in manufacturing are accurate to the current build level.
ECN ACTIVITY: The TestEngineer will be responsible for participating during the Change Control Meetings, where both internal and customer ECN's will be actioned. Subsequent to that meeting the TestEngineer will be responsible for implementing such changes into the Test processes.
TEST EQUIPMENT: The TestEngineer will be responsible for all major Test equipment movements and installations. * Graduate Engineer BSEE or BSME and two years experience. OR Graduate of applicable Electrical Technical School or Military equivalent and five years minimum same or similar work experience. OR High school education or equivalent and six years minimum same or similar work experience.

The EMI/EMC Analysis, Design, and TestEngineer - Space Exploration Avionics Systems will:
* Report directly to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager as part of a group of 45 other Electronics and Electrical Engineers.
* Work with NASA engineers and industry partners to support spaceflight avionics systems.
* Assist in planning, executing, and analyzing EMI/EMC tests on electronic hardware at NASA JSC and external facilities.
* Contribute to test plans, procedures, and reports, while learning from experienced EMI/EMC engineers.
* Support design reviews, risk assessments, and system integration across avionics, power, RF, and mechanical teams.
* Gain hands-on experience with test equipment, circuit design reviews, and EMI/EMC compliance methods.
* Learn and apply industry and NASA standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461) to real-world projects.
Requisition Qualifications:

* Basic understanding of RF design, circuit theory, and electromagnetic principles including: component and cable shielding, filters, magnetics, microwaves and antennas.
