Test technician job description

• 2-year Technical Degree Required
• Minimum 5 years electro-mechanical test experience required
• Bench experience with the electrical, mechanical, and environmental test equipment such as: Digital multi-meters, Oscilloscopes, Bench power supplies, Temperature chambers, Environmental test chambers, Electromechanical shakers, EMC test equipment, RF test equipment, etc.

JOB SUMMARYESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Supports the Test Engineer in the development and commission of test solutions executing the test qualification of the fixture and program as per the specific system qualification process.· Responsibility for providing the deliverables to support the solution in production to both the Test Support Function and Manufacturing Operations.· Assists in the build and manufacture of testers, fixtures and environmental tooling as required to meet the customer expectations.· The Technician Engineer provides the interface to the Test Support function providing comprehensive documentation and training for all test solutions implemented.· Provides the interface to the Manufacturing function providing comprehensive documentation and coordinating training and education for all test operations implemented.· Through working with the Test Support function monitor and contribute to the improvement of Test Yields, Efficiency, Intermittencies and Uptime providing accurate reporting and clear targets for improvement.· In conjunction with the Test Engineer strives to consistently upgrade the test process balancing cost, coverage with the goal of providing an optimized and cost efficient test process.· Works closely with manufacturing and test support to ensure prioritization of support activities. He/ She will be responsible for coordinating the timetable for test readiness based on the weekly production schedule through the appropriate Test Support staff.· May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONSKNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.· Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.· Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages.· Ability to write simple correspondence. • Responsible for accomplishing water immersion ultrasonic setups, examination, and testing of components to determine acceptability of material and product.
• Examines product for possible internal or external defects and document results accordingly
• Prepares material in order to properly examine and applying testing methods by cleaning, identifying, setting up equipment, etc.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and drawings, specifications and scan procedures in order to accomplish ultrasonic setups, tests, and report preparation.

As an Ultrasonic Technician you will be lifting and moving parts that weigh up to 50lbs. Candidates will be required to take a pre-employment skills test and must pass an eye and color exam prior to employment.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong computer skills
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications)

• At least two years of manufacturing experience or a technical degree/certification
• Military experience

We are currently hiring an Ultrasonic Testing Technician (Quality Assurance) at our Appleton, Wisconsin location and will report to our NDT Level III. This is a 2nd shift position from 3pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday that will not require travel. Training is conducted on 1st shift 7am-3:30pm. Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is an impressive Quality Assurance tool that is used for the examination and testing using ultrasonic frequencies of materials and components that will not change or destroy the parts usefulness. Our Ultrasonic Testing department plays a vital role in ensuring that we are producing components that meet quality, reliability and safety standards of ATI and our customers.

As an Ultrasonic Technician, you will work with new state-of-the-art testing and inspection equipment in a climate-controlled environment and provide examination and testing of specialty components by using water immersion ultrasonic testing on components for aerospace jet engines and other high-performance applications.
